Chicago's DEMOCRATIC "CULTURE of CORRUPTION" Highlites

Four weeks old and here's what's happening.

MAY 15: Asst. U.S. atty. Pat Collins tells jurors the defendants ( Sorich and McCarthy) schemed to reward Pro-Daley workers with Jobs and Promotions. Sorich's atty. answers with they weren't doing anything that hasn't been done in Chicago for years. He argued that a crime hasn't even been commited.

MAY 16,18: Mary Jo Falcon, a former personnel director for the Sewer and Water Management Dept., testifies that for 11 years she recieved "BLESSED LISTS" of preselected job applicants from the defendants, and made sure those people were taken care of.

MAY 22: Joseph Gagliano, former Deputy Sewers Commissioner, testifies that Victor Reyes, who once ran the Mayors Office of Inter. Gov. Affairs and is head of the powerful Pro-Daley Hispanic Democratic Org., is in on the scheme. He said Reyes pushed through a bricklayer who came late, left early, and did a lousy job.

MAY 24: John Kosiba, the highest ranking Daley aide to testify, said he never spoke to Daley about hiring and promations.

MAY 26,30,31: Jack Drumgould, retired personnel director in Streets and San., testifies under cross-exam that he made sure the Chicago Skyway Tollway was fully manned, because the Mayor went that way to his Summer Home in Grand Beach, Mi. He also said the interview process for jobs at Streets and San. was a sham because the winners were pre-selected.

MAY 31, JUNE 1: David Katalinic, a former deputy in Streets and San. and the 5th defendant in the case, testifies he built a White patronage army at Sorich's request. In return he asked Sorich's help in getting Jobs and Promos. He pled guilty to taking $15,000 in "Hired Truck" program bribes.

JUNE 5,6: Dom Tomczak, longtime #2 at the city's Water Dept., testifies that from the time Daley took office, he maintained a large political army of City Workers. He took orders from the Mayors Office and was rewarded with Jobs and Promotions, a process he called "BEING MADE". He admitted taking $400,000 in "Hired Truck" program bribes.

More to come.
