Another Example of Congressional Competance

Debolt Voting Machines. Here we go again. Another election upon us, and we're still hearing the same old arguements. After we discovered the that there are to many people out there who can't follow directions with a sheet of paper in 2000, the nation's legislators swung into action all across the this great land. Whipped up by the Media they promised us the best and latest voting machines on the face of the earth to ensure that our votes Counted. They spent Millions. They sure didn't worry about Paper trails and the like back then.

Thus the Electronic Age came to the American People. Not long after, the chorus started. No Paper Trail. No Reliability testing is possible. From the Very Same People who Bought Them in the 1st Place.

Let's see now. Since 2000, we've gone through 3 national elections and we're still hearing the same stuff everytime. Not one Town, City, County, State, or anybody has bothered to either find out about if they work, or if anyone has tested them. You can't expect Democrats to do it, because then when they loose an election they won't have anything to blame. You have to wonder "Why". You would think that in all this time Somebody, Sometime, Somewhere they would have checked it out by now.

Me, I like the old Voting machines we used to have in Chicago. You step in, or do whatever to get in, and pull the "close curtain" lever. Then you take your finger and push the levers down under your choices. You can't push 2 levers in the same catagory because there is an interlock to stop you. You have to push the other lever up, and then make your selection again. Then you can stand there and look at your choices and make sure you have the ones what you wanted. When you pull the "close curtain" lever again, it records your vote and resets the levers.

No paper trail with that one either. If you want to see if the machine is working properly, you open up the back, push some levers, and look and see if the gears turned and it did what you wanted it to.

Simple and Easy. What's wrong with that. I don't think we a bunch of scientists figuring this one out. They all seemed to work just Fine for Years.
