There were an awful lot of "Ahs" in their answers. It must be getting harder and harder to come up with the most effective dodge to whatever question's being asked. They are very good at it too.
I almost thought Axelrod was going to loose it for a minute there on "Meet the Press" though. He raised his voice and forced Gregory to listen to the answer he wanted to give, even though it had nothing to do with the question. Republicans this and republicans that. Every answer was the same. I said it before and I'll say it again. We're going to be hearing about George Bush for the next 10 years. Maybe longer. I mean, they're still talking about Reagan.
Well, I guess that's what happens when you know that noone believes the answers you're giving. President Obama is getting ready to push congress to protect the public once again. Last week, President Obama gave wall street the "Kiss of Death". Declared war on the banks and everybody else. A few kind words and it dropped 500 points. Now we're below the years start.
Democrats protected us from the credit card companies and look at how good they did. They all jacked up their rates and fees. I sure hope we're not in line for that again.
The democratic spin about the drop in the market is all about Bernanke. When I watch CNBC and other business channels, they talk about taxes and regulations, not Bernanke. I donno. Somebody's crazy.
The "American People" are just starting to recover some of their 401k and other investment losses, and now this? Congress wants to derail the whole operation? There needs to be some controls because congress doesn't seem to be able to provide oversight, but please, don't whack us again.
I'm hopeful that some people in congress will wake-up and open their eyes and ears and listen to us for a change.

Obama, Sen. Ed Kennedy, Chappaquiddick, & the Medal

When I heard the names of some of the people who are going to receive a medal, I had to chuckle. I only remember Billy Jean for beating Bobby Riggs in tennis. Then it got to be a little more serious.

The Esteemed Senator Edward Kennedy was named. I couldn't even believe my ears. Then I realized that Pres. Obama and liberal democrats in congress probably would think of him as a role model. I guess he was a product if the 60's after all. He was involved with sex, drugs, and rock and roll with plenty of cash and political muscle to escape any repercussions.

My thoughts gravitated to Mary Joe Kopechne (Bobby K.'s secretary) and Chappaquiddick Island. After a night of partying, Eddy was going to leave and Mary Jo was going to get a ride. He drove off of a bridge and the car ended upside down in a coastal waterway. The esteemed senator left her there but managed to swim to safety himself. He returned to his hotel room and went to sleep. Poor Mary Jo Kopechnes' body was found the next morning clinging to the highest point of the car where an air bubble would have formed. He forgot to go to police and report it until the cops showed up. Then he issued a statement.

The whole matter was cleared up in a couple of months with no more than a slap on the wrist. Oh, he did receive a 2 month suspended sentence for a couple of misdemeanors. Out of the goodness of his heart, he paid the family of Mary Jo $90,900 and his insurance co. shelled out another $50,000. But the poor guy blew his chance to run for the presidency. I guess the judge thought that was punishment enough.

Then there are all the stories about his sexual hijinks's, the stories about the "Au" bar, the drugs, and all the rest. Ya, I'd say he's just like the liberal side of the democratic party, reared in the 60's. The "Age of Aquarius".

We all know what Pres. Obama and the democrats think. Enlightened and free-thinking liberals all adore Teddy. Their hero. He's going to be honored with a medal.

I'd really like to know what Mary Jo Kopechnes' family thinks about the esteemed senator and his honorary medal.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ciacon.blogspot.com/2009/07/obama-sen-ed-kennedy-chappaquiddick.html' title='Obama, Sen. Aside from the fact that it's really an $850 billion bill, with all the extra add-ons we get, most isn't spent. If road construction is the proof, I don't see were it's done anything. Illinois tollway fees were doubled last year, and besides around here there's atleast 3 roads torn up every year. Year after year, every spring, summer, and fall Chicagoans sit in construction zones for hours. We even get to pay extra if they finish a little early because winters bad enough. Of course, they're never really done, they still only have to block off small parts of the roads for stripping and stuff like that. Just minor inconvieniences they're called.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they're fixing them, but after already paying trillions of dollars in local, county, state, and federal taxes, why do we have to pay again? Where did the money go? Besides, the money congress alotted is miniscule in comparison the the size of the bill.

I had to chuckle when I saw the President roll out those 29 or so police officers and then again when Joe Biden did the same whereever he was. The press fawned over the good deed they did. But, all the feds did was foot the bill for hiring them. I'm sure the citizens of those communities could've done that for themselves. That is if they wanted to pay more in taxesfor their salaries, health care, and pensions. It seems to me that the majority in those communitees didn't want to pay more in taxes. They're going to pay more taxes now though wether they wanted to or not, thanks to the President and vise-president.

It was nice to see that there was enough money allotted for the mayors, alderpersons (pc), governors, and all the rest of government to keep there jobs though. I mean, what would we do without them.

Me personally, I think we need to stimulate the economy by downsizing government. For example, here in Chicago, there are 50 alderpersons each making $110,000 per year with a $90,000 expense account. That doesn't take in county govt. and all the rest of the dead weight. I'm sure we'd all be just fine with half as many.

Obama and Health Care

My basic complaint about the new govt. health care ideas is that I might loose some of the coverage I already have. It took years, make that decades, for the union I belong to, to get the benefits we have. Some cracked heads along the way too.
I know, we keep hearing the same old democratic mantra that we can keep the heath care we have if we want to. Well isn't that nice.
The problem is what is our answer is going to be when they come to and say that Pres. Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and the rest of the govt. think that we get to much. How do we justify the coverage we now have against them.
Nobody ever talks about that. I feel, and my family does too, that we need every bit we have and couldn't do without it. It's not like we're getting off cheap. With deductibles and co-pays, it can get expensive, especially if you have children.

Who's to Blame for the Tea Parties? Obama or the Congress

First off, it doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out why that loony DHS report was released. Anything to divert attention from the protests, right Rahm? I've lived in Chicago for 45 years, I think I've seen almost all off the tricks Chicago dems have up their sleeves.

But to the point, I think both have contributed. Obama let Nancy and Harry ram through some pretty hefty spending bills, and they went crazy. They loaded them up with pork, I guess because Chuck said we don't care, and now it's blowing up in their faces. I think all Obama had to do was veto the last $340 billion dollar spending bill and he would've been alright now. Dems tried to defend it as last years business, making it even all the more acceptable to veto, but no one's buying it.

People aren't stupid and they know what's coming. Higher taxes. The money isn't laying around in the basement. It had to be borrowed.

I watched MSNBC and those commentators (Kieth, Rachel, Chris, Ed) and they just won't admit the truth. Try as they may, no one said anything about being a flaked out repub. The didn't want to cover the runnup, and now that it's all over the place, trying to change the story. Did you see that CNN reporter in Chicago? Even Nancy P. says so. But I know she's not that stupid. She's hoping this will blow over by the next elections. She knows they have 18 months or so to come up with a strategy to mollify the masses, or make them forget.

One problem is they played the Rush card to soon. Now all they have left is Bush, Rove, and Cheney. They've been griping about them for 2 years now and sooner or later it just isn't going to work for them anymore. People get tired of hearing the same old song and dance.

All I know is, if dems keep going the way they have been, there'll be some new faces in congress next year. Just ask Harry what's up. Their antics may even cost Obama his job.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ciacon.blogspot.com/2009/04/whos-to-blame-for-tea-parties-obama-or.html' title='Who's to Blame for the Tea Parties? Obama signed the "stimulus" bill, the recovery is underway.I watched all the hoopla about going to Denver to sign the bill because of the "greenness" in the package. Not one news person asked about it.

First I watched our VP Joe Biden fly in in his own plane. Then a few minutes later the President arrived aboard AF-1, as he should, and that was just today. Never mind their barn-storming the country for the last couple of days. I find it hard to believe that they need to be apart when traveling, but not when they are together in large gatherings for hours. History has shown us that they're much more vulnerable to attack and harm when they're in a crowded area. But, there they were, all smiles and glad-handing, limos running and at the ready.

Congressional leaders were absent on stage, but it wasn't because they didn't want to take some credit, or that they were trying to save taxpayer dollars. They were almost all on junkets. Nancy Pelosi is off flying around Italy on her AF jet. Berlisconi could have told her "no" on the telephone, or sent her a fax. Dick Durbin, senator from the Great State of Illinois, is off to Turkey. Burris, democratic appointee by the Rodster has his own problems here in the Great State of Illinois. I don't know if anyone outside of Chicago saw it, but, Burris sure was in a hurry to get into the house when he got home here. Others are elsewhere. I'm sure you get the picture. Wonder how much these carbon credits are going to cost us when they get rolling.

Anyway, back to the "green". I have a funny feeling that the burden of "going green" and "energy conservation" is going to fall in one direction. Ours.

Obama and His Foreign Policy

Obamas' actions so far leave me wondering if we're going to be gettig another "Peace Dividend" like the one Bill Clinton gave us after Ronald Reagan won the cold war. That one gutted our spy angencies and military and probebly led directly to all the intell falures on Iraqi WMD, not to mention the lame response to the murders of our citizens.
Only 2 weeks in office and already we're finding out about secret back-door meetings with foreign leaders, all the while telling the American People "there's only one President at a time". Talk about sending mixed messages, being open, and transparent.
The rest of the world sure doesn't seem to be concerned about anything that Pres. Obama might do.
Putin got his new buddies to close access to an airbase that we used to resupply our troops, but now says he's willing to use his powers of pursuation to help us out. But he said that needs a sweetener, I think congress calls them, to help him make the sale. Just give-up on NATO and missle defense.
Pakistans' high court released A. Q. Khan from his terrible imprisonment. Now that Bush is gone and Obama and the dems. are in charge, they must've figured the poor guy suffered enough at home. He's now free to go about business as usual, I guess.
President Obama wants to close Gitmo. It's a laudable goal, but there's no plan to relocate them or try them anymore. Charges were just dropped on some of them even after they've admitted their own guilt. I heard reporst on the news about family members going there to watch the proceedings and the perprtrators laughing at them. I'm sure it's all for the good of the nations "image in the world".
But wait, now the new administration wants to come up with some kind of tribunal to handle the cases. Didn't we just go through that exercise with a congressionally approved tribunal?
Irans' busy shooting off missles and telling us they don't like the new ambassador, and we don't even have one named yet. That shouldn't be a suprise, they didn't seem to like the names of our badmitton team either. It'll be interesting to see if the Obama admin. goes through with nominating Dennis.
India and Pakistan. Where do you start?
The vice-president predicted the new admin would be tested early and people are amazed at his accuracy. Duh.
I'm willing to go out on a limb and make a prediction myself. I predict that in 4 or 8 yrs., whenever we get a new president, they'll be tested early in their administration.
Anybody amazed?

More & More of the Same-o Same-o

Sure does sound like more and more democrats are going to get caught up in the home loan debacle.

Dodd, Conrad, and now Obama. I wonder if the bucks will stop there with the democratic presidential contender?

Knowing and seeing the kid-glove treatment Obama gets from the press, I don't expect to hear much more about it. And I suspect other motives.

That said, Baracks home deal here in Chicago is sounding sleazier and sleazier.

I've lived in the city of Chicago from the Great State of Illinois for the last 59 years now. I had to laugh when I heard the excuses from Obama because I've heard seemingly every B.S. story on the books from Chicagos' internationally famously corrupt democrats for so long now. I say democrats because there has NEVER been a republican elected in Chicago ever. I think that we hold the record for having the most politicians go to jail for corruption than anywhere else in the country. Not to worry though, they always get off with a slap on the wrist. Some even get out after serving there time and run for office again. Gotta love it.

Right now our democratic governor Rod Blago is suspected of being "Politician A" in a federal bribe taking and job rigging investigation. Yes it involves Obama fundraiser Tony Rezko, who ended up in jail.

A little history. Obama fundraiser and jailbird Tony Rezko and democratic presidential contender Barack Obama each happen (by chance) to buy a 2 pieces of property right next door to each other. Obama bought his property (house) and received a $300,000 discount on the asking price when the R.E. market was red-hot. Rexko (a real estate developer) bought his unimproved property (no house) for $300,000 MORE than the asking price. Then Obama discovered that 1) the house doesn't have the elbow room on one side of it he'd like to have and 2) Tony Rezko just happens to own the lot next to that side. Imagine that. How lucky can a guy get? Anyway, Obama gets Tony to sell him a chunk of his property for what is termed a fair price, basically leaving the rest of the lot to small for building on. I guess with Rezko, the lots owner, in jail now, the lot will become an overgrown eyesore for a while. (To bad too, cause it cost him $600,000 for the lot.) That is until the city of Chicago (read taxpayers) step-up to the plate and keep it kept-up. And don't think that'll be because of Obamas' clout.

Now we hear more about Obamas R.E. deal. We're expected to believe that his position had nothing to do with the rate he got. I guess the rest of America just doesn't know how to negotiate, except for a few U. S. senators. Like I said before, being from Chicago I find that B.S. a little to hard to swallow.

I do wonder though if this Obama thing is being thrown out there as cover for Dodd, Conrad, and whoever else gets caught. Everybody (?) knows how innocent Obama is, and the press is in awe of him, so I don't expect it to come up much. By extension Dodd, Conrad, et al. get a pass.

So Simple.

Diane Gets Caught

Let's see if I've got this straight. Americans are losing good paying jobs, Mortgages are in trouble, incomes falling, gas rising, and the best that dem. senator Diane Fienstien could think to do for the "American People" is try and sneak an Amnesty provision for Illegal Aliens into a defense spending bill.
It kinda makes me laugh when I think about it.
With all the gnashing of teeth, hand-wringing, and crying by democrats in the hallowed halls of congress about money, one wouldn't think they would want to pile more of a debt burden on the shoulders of the "American People", but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Noone there , as far as I can tell, has tried to sneak in an ammendment to increase oil production here in the U.S. to relieve "pressure at the pumps". How about one to help stressed out homeowners? I wonder if they know anything at all about Chineese espionage?
I would be happy to hear about anything that would actually HELP the "American People". But, I just don't see that happening. EVER!
Funny how it only took one night to bailout Bear Sterns with a stand alone bill. One that actually stood on it's own merits, but can't get a stand alone bill to help our returning G.I.'s, or even an ammendment.
All that moaning about republicans and all I see is just back to business as usual, if the "American People" are against something just sneak this or that in when you get a chance.

Oil Production and Democrats Go Hand in Hand

I've noticed a few things since the dems took control of congress with their "mandate" in the last election. Out of all of them, the one that sticks out most in my mind, are food and gas prices. Since democrats came to power, everything has doubled and tripled in price. Did the "People's party" do it for the benefit of large U.S. corporations they rail against? Is that the Progressive agenda? Go Green and kill off whole populations of people and destroy ecosystems worldwide so that we don't have to drill for oil here? Sounds like a plan.
Just today on the news, it was reported that members of congress were going to see Pres. Bush and DEMAND that he go to the Saudiis and DEMAND that they increase oil production. HUH?
Here in the good old U.S. of A., we have billions of untapped barrels of oil in Anwar. But don't drill there. Caribou.A couple of weeks ago, news stations reported the discvery of billions of more barrels under Montana, S. Dakota, stretching all the way into Canada. But don't drill there. It's been known for decades that there are trillions of cubic feet of natural gas under the western states. Don't drill there.
Instead of DEMANDING everyone else increase production, maybe democrats should open up those areas for oil drilling. Ya think? But, we're going green. Hooray.
A few months ago, the Saudiis announced that they were going to increase production, and oil futures dropped for 2 days. After markets realized that they couldn't actually do it, they started to go back up.
Imagine if our congress actually opened up the fields. I think prices would drop like a bomb. Fast and Hard, decreasing our dependance on the foreign oil congress likes to complain about.
Then there's the complaint about windfall profits and what to do about them. (Never mind the small fact that the insurance industry, and others earns about 30 times as much.) The fastest and probably best way to reduce windfall profits is to DRILL for oil. DUH.
But dems in congress aren't interested in that. They wouldn't have anything to complain about except for that old standby, George Bush, and he'll be gone soon.
I guess we just have to face the fact that congress and big industry are all in bed together.

AMNESTY the Best Thing for the U.S.

The U.S. senate is getting ready to make their AMNESTY proposal. After the arrests today, I can't even believe they have the guts to bring it up. I hate to sound like Nancy Pelosi, but, the democrats seem to be turning a "TIN EAR" and a "BLIND EYE" to the feelings of the "AMERICAN PEOPLE" they claim to be so fond of. 60% of the population disagrees with their approach, so who are they beholden to?

6 foreign-born muslims. 1 granted citizenship,2 here on green cards, and 3 illegal aliens. Just great. They planned to kill as many of our soldiers as they could. When is enough killing and blaming America enough.

Now we have to hear the likes of Kennedy, Reid, and the usuals, drone on about how blessed we will be with the new AMNESTY plan. Are these the kinds of people he wants to allow to stay with no questions asked? Is this what America has to look forward to because of AMNESTY? Assaults and attacks because the U.S. senate "Expressed It's Will"? All those complaints about the President creating new terrorists, and our senators are trying to figure out a way to let them just WALTZ right in.

It's time to voice your opinions to your senators and others. It won't do any good, but at least they'll know what you think. I sent my senators a copy of the article, just incase they may have missed it on the news or in the hallowed halls of congress. After all, we all know how busy they are.

POOR HARRY

Poor Harry. The supreme court upheld a law that he voted FOR. Him and 17 of his democratic pals. They all voted for the Partial-birth Abortion ban without an exception for the health of the woman.

I would've thought that he wold be proud of the accomplishnent. Congress passes a law that passes constitutional muster and he's mad? In 2005 they fully supported it. He tried to blame the justices on the supreme court. Wished Sandra O'Connor were still around.

My guess, noone in the congress knows that the remedy is right there in front of them. All they have to do is AMMEND the BILL. But, I can appreciate the democrats dilema. They would have to actually "Speak Up" and "Go On Record". Can't have that. They figured the supreme court would get them off the hook.

There's the real problem. This court seems to be willing to judge the constitutionality of the laws congress writes. They aren't going to do their dirty work anymore.

Imagine that. Congress actually legislating. Don't worry though, I predict that with rules like that, Nothing will get done. Nobody there has the guts to do anything, except complain about nothing getting done.

Lots of important things to debate here in the U.S. Social Security, Medic-aid, the big Illegal Alien May Day marches, and noone there seems to notice. They may have noticed, but aren't willing to talk about any of it. As usual, just Bush and Iraq. Nothing about the plight of those unfortunate women, the over-burdened American Taxpayer, nothig. The silence is deafening. Why? Just because they'll have to go on record?

Broken Army

All this chatter about the army being broken. It's starting to sound like this "volunteer army" thing isn't really going to work to me. Atleast not at these levels. It's also starting to sound like we're in real trouble. Looks like congress really blew it on the size army America really does need. They got carried away with the "Peace Dividend". Another failure of congress to adequately Analyze and equip our military. What will we do if we have to field a million soldiers in a confrontation with say China? In today's environment I can't see that happening.

I was listening to an interviews on the radio with people who were at the peace rally yesterday. One interviewee said that she heard about a woman that was severely traumatized at seeing a police officer spray pepper-spray in someones face. That the poor woman reported that she would have a very long recovery from PTSD, of all things. If that's to much for the populace to handle, we're in real trouble. We won't be able to stand-up to anyone.

The WWII generation really is turning out to be the greatest generation. Our soldiers managed to come back home, after years of horrific combat, ignore PTSD and everything else, and still build the country into what it is today. It seems like they performed a heroic feat. Certainly better than our generation or the next, seem to be willing to do.

What is America going to do?

What About Us?

I watched Rep. Maxine Waters on Fox News Sunday this morning (3-11-07) and she looked and sounded like a nervous wreck. The democrats don't want to have to deal with Iraq in 2008 and are desperately trying to figure a way out. She seemed to be as flustered as Nancy gets. I think that it's starting to reach critical mass. Mike had to stop her a couple of times and remind her that she wasn't answering the questions he was asking. At times, she just seemed to rattle on.

On of the parts I liked was when she said WE caused the civil war. She said that the Iraqis' all got along wonderfully while Sadam was there and in charge. I don't think I have to give reasons why. I found it hard to believe she said it, and even harder to believe that some people really do believe just that.

Yes, democrats are desperately trying to find the right way to say "Cut and Run". If this war drags on, they will have to deal with it. How are they going to say "Bush lost the war" then? They'll have to come up with their own ideas about whether to win it or loose it on their own. Ha, ha, ha.

Things don't look promising though. Even members of their own party aren't committed to Nancy, Maxines', or Harrys' ideas, let alone, 60 members. The left wing of the democratic party isn't going to like that either. The days of a simple majority are over in the senate. If democrats think that they will get re-elected for trying, they may be in for a surprise. Newt actually enacted legislation that passed in the senate.

It's to bad the dems are devoid of any ideas on how to win this thing. I would have thought that a party so worried about the children, would come up with something that would spare them the job in the future. Farther ahead than 2 years. All I ever hear is that al Sadr, Iran, and the Sunnies don't want us there.

The So. Koreans don't want us there. The No. Koreans don't want us there. The Chinese don't want us there. The Japanese don't want us there. The Okinawans' don't want us there. The Russians don't want us in Europe. Even the U.N. doesn't want us in N.Y.C., investigating things like the "Oil for Food" program, or the new "U.N./ATM" scandal that's going to get going. Now the U.N. is going to have to hire another ex-somebody to try and paper the deal over and try and make it look legit and shut everybody up.

Sometimes you just have to call a spade a spade, and admit the truth. NOBODY wants us around. They're just looking for another hand-out. Bushs' trip to So. America proved that. All we heard was that the U.S.A. wasn't paying enough attention to them. None of that seems to register with dems though. Nancy, Maxine, and Harry are just looking for power.

The real question is, WHO'S LOOKING OUT FOR THE WELFARE OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE?

On the Carpet

I saw a good one the other day. I was watching a senate hearing and Sen. Dianne Feinstein was grilling the governor from Louisiana. Gov. Blanco was complaining about how long it takes for the reconstruction grants to be processed and to straighten out any problems with the figures. Then they had the company president on. He said they had hired and trained more staff to finally handle the job.

But this is a problem that the Gov. made herself. She chose and hired the company herself. Then she went before the senate crying the blues.

They saved the best for last though. Mayor Nagin took the seat and said that he could do a better job by himself with a couple of local banks. I almost fell out of my chair. That was beautiful. He was jus about to be called before congress himself for, let's say "irregularities"(?), about what happened to all the Federal Dollars that were supposed to go for levee inspections and repairs. Then Katrina hit and she got them all off the hook. I can imagine what we'd be hearing and reading about if the mayor had his way.

I'll bet the good senator wanted to die though. Mostly softball question and every democrat there trying to blame everyone else. Not a repulican in the bunch.

That's our congress in-action. These MAROONS really think they know whats good for us.

Good Grief! Even the press is squirming, and I can't say I'm sorry about that.
There is some more grief over the budget proposal. Maybe even a whole bunch of it. You know, caused by the so-called "budget cuts" from the Bush admin.
There is grief in the congress about the Iraq Strategy. The usual players, the usual complaints, the usual, usual.
There's even some left over grief about Speaker Pelosi's plane, but let's skip all that.
I like Sen. Carl Levin's grief the best. He's got to be one of the best actors I've ever seen. The grief on that man's face is incredible. He never has a good day. He must really exercise and take good care of himself to be able to carry the all the grief of the American People on his shoulders like that. I'm sure that if you looked up Atlas in Webster's Dictionary or in the Encyclopedia, Sen. Carl Levin's pix would appear.
His latest burden is trying to comprehend how a person (fitch) could give the President a report with a different danger assessment than the CIA's.
Is he talking about the same CIA that got military strength of the former USSR wrong?
The same CIA that got the fall of the former USSR wrong?
The same CIA that said that Saddam was years away from developing "The Bomb" before Gulf War 1?
The same CIA that was wrong about N. Korea's bomb-building ability?
The same CIA that missed 9-1-1? Should I go on?
Maybe Carl knows something we don't. Is there a 2nd secret CIA the American People don't know exists that got the reports right?
I seem to remember some grief a couple of years ago, in the congress, about what should be done to make the 1st CIA functional again. I guess Carl Levin forgot about the "Peace Dividend". you know, that's the one that democrats during the Clinton admin. said we got after Ron Reagan won the Cold War. The Clinton admin gutted the CIA and the military, explaining that they were intrusive and obsolete in a "Post Cold War World". That there was nothing to worry about in a "Post Cold War" world. So our congress, in all it's wisdom, started cutting.
Now, Sen. Carl Levin wants to know where the equipment is that our troops could use. Now, Sen. Carl Levin wants to know why people don't believe the CIA. HA! If that doesn't beat all. If anyone should know, it should be members in the "Hallowed Halls of Congress". They acted before Bush came into office. Carl doesn't remember that they "CUT" buying for the military and "CUT" funding for the CIA.
Good Grief Carlly Levin, it's the "PEACE DIVIDEND" come home to roost!!!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ciacon.blogspot.com/2007/02/good-grief-its-peace-dividend-stupid.html' title='Good Grief! I can see already that the democrats are going to have a battle royale on their hands.

My prediction is "Ugly". Two years running for office is a long time and with O'Bama being black, I can see a lot of "Swift-boating" action ahead. White candidates will be afraid to say anything against O'Bama for fear of being called racist. It's already started. Barak's education has been called into question and the Clinton camp doesn't know a thing about the report or where it came from. Then there's Joe Biden's comment. I didn't see anything wrong with what he said, but I'm white so what do I know? I had to be educated over the next couple of days about the subject by Jesse and Al.

Congress works longer now and it's a good thing, because with all these candidates running around the country, it's hard to see how much work they'll be able to get done. At least, it's hard for me to see anyway. To me it looks like 2 more years of Bush bashing. We're going to be hearing about Bush for the next 20 years. just like Ronald Regan and he was right.

You must admit though, it's better to have congress doing nothing. They don't have a clue. Experts are grilled in front of committees on TV and they just ignore what they hear. That is unless the person agrees with the interrogators point of view. We witnessed an example of it last week. The Expert (the General) says one thing and the inexperienced (congress) doesn't like what he has to say, so the inexperienced explain to the Expert that he doesn't know what he's talking about and he's wrong, but he's still OK in their book.

Got off the path a little here, so back to the "swiftboating". About the only way to say anything negative about O'Bama is to let the 527's take care of any problems the domocrats think they have.

Then again, there's another possibility. That Barak escapes a beating altogether, because everyone's afraid to say anything for fear of being misconstrued. Even Bill and Hillary are going to be putting on the kid gloves. Republicans especially. They can't say anything bad or even good about him without the country going nuts. We could end up with an inexperienced senator becoming an untested president.

Now that would really make for a boring campaign. But if that happens I'm sure the news media will find a way to liven things up. It all depends on which democrat they think should be president, for the good of the People, ofcourse.

Off to the Races

They said that the new speaker of the house, Nancy, was a very shrewd pol. This week her experience and shrewdness is paying off.

It's a good thing that she choose 100 hours, instead of100 days. It hasn't even been 30 days yet, and already we've had some real eyeopeners. The democrats promised us changes and an open congress, and boy are they ever taking us there.

Here we have Nancy trying to depress the wages of the poorest workers and trying to get free air travel for her relatives. Harry Reid raking in hundreds of thousands of dollars on $20,000 investments and then promoting and passing legislation his partners needed for their own enrichment. Then there's Sen. Finstein on the MILCOM committee passing legislation to enrich her husband's investment firm and his partners. His companies are some of the leading providers of military services. What else can be added about Joe Biden's remarks.

Seems like more of the same old stuff to me. Although now, they can't go to anymore free Superbowl games or get free donuts. THAT'S GOOD?

They can still be able to rake in the cash though, so we won't have to fret about that.

100 Hours in Record Time

Congrats Nancy, you've completed your agenda in record time. To bad it probebly won't amount to much. Unless the Senate acts, all that glad-handing is for naught.

The house can change it's own rules, but that's it.

Minimum wage? Most people here make more, except in American Samoa I heard.

Even cracking down on big oil will go down. The price of oil has just dropped below $50 a barrel. The oil give-aways democrats are concerned about were OK'ed by the Clinton admin. back in 1998. I sure don't remember hearing any complaints back then. That makes me think that things looked alot different then to the Clinton admin. and the oil companies needed the help.

I'll say one thing though, the democrats and liberal press did an excellent job of feeding the "American People" alot of Dis-Information. Some things will never change. The republicans should take note on how they did it.

Now let's see if you can do the same with S.S. or immigration. You know, something that'll really matter to the "American People". Who knows, you might even help us.

The 1st Hundred Hours

Didn’t take long, did it? Only the 1st week and the Democrats, led by Nancy Pelosi, are up to their old tricks. Moaning and Groaning about everyone paying their fair share of taxes, and then exempting the biggest earners, and driving up our costs. Soon we’ll hear about the S.S. Trust fund being broke and now we know 1 reason why. At $3.26 per hour, you don’t pay much into the system, but you still collect a great deal.
Then we started in with the excuses from every dem in the country. How come they didn’t mistakenly forget Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin isles, or even Illinois. We have lots of Illegal Aliens here because of all the incentives offered to them. From the democratic mayor in Chicago, (Daley) to the democratic county, (Cook under Stroger), to the democratic governor, (Blagojavich). Our employers probably need some help lowering wages too, because the Illegals aren’t getting the job done fast enough. But, we don’t have any tuna here. Carp.
I’m sure that the real story though, is she was responding to the needs of a constituent. Being a multi-millionaire herself, and owning a huge winery business, she understands the need to control costs. What’s the big deal? I don’t think she could just be testing the waters to see if maybe in the next year or so, maybe there could be a way to give Carte Blanche to the wineries to screw their poor, down-trodden workers, just the ones she represents (for now) of course.
$3.26 an hour on an island that has to import everything that it needs and/or wants, except maybe fish. I doubt they have enough room to grow any crops at all on those tiny islands. They say gas is over $3.50 a gallon in Hawaii, so I can imagine what it is there. I guess it would be hard enough to buy a bicycle, much less a car or motorcycle on a salary of $3.26 an hour though, so I guess it really doesn’t matter much. Unbelievable.
Then, they showed the representative of the islands, and he was yelling and screaming about Nancy being right and the American People not knowing what’s going on. Basically to shut-up. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Personally, I think that guy should be investigated for bribery by the FBI. I find it hard to believe that someone didn’t pay him off. I mean, how do you do that to your own people?
Ofcourse, he does have a point though. He manages to scrape by on his own meager salary ($175,000+ per) and he doesn’t complain. I guess it’s like the man said, “We Don’t Live There”.

Time for a Linguist?

"Train more Iraqi troops faster", "Stay the course", "We'll stand down when they stand up". Democrats were cheering what the Iraqi commission had to say. What a joke. Millions of taxpayer dollars wasted (again) on a commission that basically endorsed the Bush Plan on Iraq. The president wants to wait until 2007 before he lays out a new plan "based on the commission's recomendations", but I'm sure it'll take a lot longer. The problem is that there isn't a linguist at the White House. Somehow the words have to be changed or rearraigned so that when George Bush says to "stay the course", "train more Iraqi troops faster", and "that we'll stand down when they are ready to stand up" again, it won't sound like he said it, it'll sound like a commission said it. There's got to be some heavy dictionary use going on right now. Capitol hill is loaded with lawyers and we all know how well they can parse words. Real pros at that. I expect to hear some real tongue-twisting when he makes that speech, and in the days to come, as they float trial ballons.

I Wrote a Letter to Senator Durbin

Dear Senator Durbin,
I heard on the news that you and the future leader of the senate, Sen. Harry Reid, were in the So. America Andean countries, but you'll both be back for Former Pres. Ford's funeral. What were you doing down there?
Channel 7 news reportsd that the Andean countries are pushing for even greater access to the U.S. market and about our mean-spirited immigration policies. Is that true? Now that the democrats are in charge, are you there to give away more American jobs? Are you there to complain about American-made products being shut out of their markets? (not likely)
Then there's this immigration thing. Are you and the future majority leader of the senate demanding or even asking that those nations improve the standard of living for their own people so they can earn a decent living at home in their own countries? Are you and the future majority leader of the senate just nodding your heads in agreement with them, That we mean-spirited American Taxpayers need to understand and reach out and give comfort and aid to the millions of Illegal Aliens that broke-in to our counry, stole S.S. numbers, lied on applications, and contributed to driving down American wages?
I heard that both you and the future majority leader of the senate will be coming back for the funeral, so I'm eagerly looking forward to your press confrence on how you laid down the law while you were there. I'm sure that the
American People can't wait to hear how you saved their jobs and wages too.
Thank you for your time.
P.S. The Iraqi commission pretty much endorsed the Bush plan for Iraq. When I heard the commission say "stay the course", "train more Iraqi troops", "we should leave when they're ready to takeover", I expected to hear some complaints from democrats congress that it was George Bush light, but the democrats loved it. Why, I guess because George Bush didn't say it this time. Joe Biden was the only one to complain, and that's only because they didn't think his plan was any good. What a waste of time, energy, and taxpayer dollars.
Oh ya, one more thing, another Increase in the Murder rate here back at home in Chicago. I know that you were out of the country, so I just wanted to let you know that 466 Chicagoans were Shot, Stabbed, Clubbed, Beaten, and/or Burned to death in 2006. It was reported on Channel 7 News this morning. They didn't give a figure on the wounded though.

The Negotiator Cometh

9-11 is here and it seems like everyone has ssomething to say or gripe about or both.I had to drive my girlfriend to work, so I had a chance to listen to WNPR for a while. I like Public Radio although sometimes I have to turn it off, because they have some real loonies on their shows. The callers are off in lala land too.

Naturally today the talk was about 9-11, the war on terror, and Iraq. All these years the answer has been "Bush lied" and "we need to get other countries involved". Now the mantra is "Negotiate".

I've looked at those questions, and all I can say is that the Whole World Intell community was in Agreement on Iraq. Every Intell agency in the Whole World agreed that Saddam had WMD, as inconvenient as that may be. I can't believe that anyone with 1/2 a brain can still possibly thinks that anyone is going to help us. Al Qeada has convinced everyone except Blair and Bush not to go against them. Just take an honest look at what happened in Madrid.

That only leaves "negotiate," but negotiate what? Islamists and Democrats say we have to change our foreign policy in the middle east. To what? They complaign that we support bad governments like the Saudi's and Kuwait. Those people aren't free like we are here in the USA, but they can drive, Vote in some cases, listen to music, watch movies and tv, travel, and they are loosening up their societies. How many hundreds of years did it take for women to get the right to vote here in the "free" world?

That's the part I don't get. Are we supposed to Negotiate away those advances, however meager they are, for a Taliban-like Regime? How many lashes are allowed under the "Geneva Convention" for not wearing a Burka? 5, 10, 20? Should they be shot for leaving the house without a male escort? Is that what we Enlightened people in the West are supposed to "negotiate"? I don't ever recall ever hearing about the Taliban letting the Afghans vote for anything at all. I can only remember seeing on TV the Afghans being beaten, stabbed, and shot dead at old soccer fields for Disobeying their rules. In Somalia were the Islamic Courts took over the country, the Islamist Defenders of the Faith went aroud Killing people for watching a World Cup soccer game on TV, in the name of God though.

Am I really to believe that if we don't support those Middle East govts. and let the Taliban-tyes loose on the population, that the Arab street is going to love us and rejoice? I tend to doubt it. They hate us now, and it's better than its ever been. I can only imagine what they'ld do if we made it worse.

It's time for anyone with 3/4's or more of a brain to start using them, Wake-up and Smell the Coffee as the saying goes.

Revisions

Revisions. Looks like they're going to be the order of the day. I find it hard to believe the Democrats are complaining about the film being released. All this time they've been talking about the truth being presented to the public and here's their chance. But as everyone knows there are 3 sides to the Truth, and I assume that this isn't the side they wanted released. Poor Dems. I'll bet they never thought that this stuff would never see the light of day. They must've thought they had everyone buffaloed into believing they had nothing to do with 9-11. But with everything in the public record, it's hard to hide. So, their only recourse is to try and discredit the truth, or get the story killed. They chose Smear the TV station.

Ben-Venista and Dick Clark are out there in front leading the charge. I'm sure that if the subject comes up on the Sunday Talk Shows, the chorus will be loud and shrill. The network already knuckled-under and changed a scene iin which "Sandy" Burger declined to give an order to kill bin Laden. The station also changed the stories' description, from docudrama to deoiction. What's up with that? So it seems that we won't be seeing the Whole Truth ot even the Truth, just a watered down version of events Pleasing to Democrats.

I'll bet Madeline is really upset. She is so good at trying to keep the focus on the Bush admin, but now it looks like she'll have to defend her own inaction. I cann't wait to hear the B.S. the former Sec. of State is preparing to spew.

Even former V.P. Al Gore will get a chance to explain what happened. However I don't expect to hear anything but the standard mantra about Bush failures. He will be covering his ass tho. Probebly won't be able to shed much light on the subject because he was out of the "loop".

Yesterday the newspapers wrote the Bill himself was leading the charge for change, but today it claimed that Doms and bloggers and Progressive groups are behind it. looks like all their complaining is beginning to have it's desired effect.

Revise History Now, before to many people find out the Real truth.

The Labor Day March

We just had a bunch of illegal aliens march through Illinois last weekend, for Labor Day, and noone cared. They marched from Chicago to the home of House Speaker Dennis Hastert. The Illegal aliens are positioning themselves to influence the legislation that's going to be passed after the elections. That's when we will be sold out by the Elites in Washington. After all, who knows best? Us or the Elites, like for instance, Sens. Dick Durbin and Barak Obama from Illinois. They don't really care if MY wages are increased, they're only concerned about raising the wages of Illegal Aliens. They proved that last week.

Ya, we Legal American Citizens, just sit around like bumps on a log hoping that something will happen, or maybe the problem will just go away. If this keeps up, the Illegal aliens, who've broken-in, stolen S.S. numbers, and undercut everyones wages, Will win the battle for the "Hearts and Minds(?)" of our Elites in Washington.

I really thought that all the talk about raising the Minimum wage would've gotten people talking, but alas. I can't believe that noone sees or wants to state the obvious, that wages would sky-rocket the day after Illegal were unemployed. I can remember in my lifetime and it wasn't that long ago, when it was college kids looking for college money took all those jobs. But our Elites in Washington are trying to convince us that they won't do that work anymore.

Now we're getting news stories about Investigative reporters being attacked in California. Stories of news stations being attached by Pro-Illegal Immigration groups. How much more abuse are our "elected" elites in the Hallowed Halls of Congress in Washington going to submit us to before they decide to take the kind of action the American People are demanding? It's unbelievable. Imagine telling your boss that he'll have to wait on a project because it's too hard to deal with and that you want to see if your contract is going to be renewed first. Do you think you'ld last more than 10 minutes? Well that's exactly what our Congressional Elites in Washington have said to the American People. Maybe they need another big fat raise to get them motivated. They just "awarded" themselves one, but it apparantly wasn't not have been enough to get them to do anything yet.

Right now the big push is on to register hispanics to vote in the upcoming elections. The organisers are trying to convince us that it'll be Legal and above board, because lying about their status would be a "felony". Is that a joke or what? They are already stealing S.S. numbers and getting counterfiet documents to carry on their business and aren't worried about getting caught now. So now with the whole country up in arms about voting machine irregularities, we are going to have to deal with Illegal aliens voting illegally and go through the hassle of proving it. This election is going to have the most Illegal votes of all time. That combined with the losers claiming the machines didn't work is going to be a real mess.

The Elites in Washington really got us in deep this time. There's going to be some major finger-pointing going on in the months ahead. Our elites inWashington don't know what's going on, and know even less about what to do about it. All I know is Let the Legal American Citizens Beware, because the Elites in Washington are going to give us our Just Due as soon as they are reelected. All I can do is hope that they aren't.

A Reminder from "The King"

The Iranian problem reminds me of the words to an old Elvis song. "We're all shook-up, uh huh huh, ya ya ya, all shook-up". Having said that, I said before, that we should be using all means at our disposal to defeat the current Iranian regime. It's time to do what Ronald Regan did to the Soviets. When he said " Mr. Gorby, Tear Down this Wall" I felt like it was our finest moment and was damn proud to be an American that day.But Ronald didn't just say it, he had the GUTS to go out and do it.

Then when he went to Rykovick, and turned down the "Russian Offer" on missles, the whole world went Bonkers. All the "Elite Brain Surgeon Know-it-alls" predicted WW3 was right around the corner. Ya, everybody was going to start bombing everybody the very next day. Ha Ha Ha. Boy, did the Know-it-alls Blow that one.

It's time to start flooding the Iranian dissidents Millions of Dollars to foment as much internal rabble rousing as we possibly can. I can't understand what our leaders in Washington can possibly be thinking. Russia collapsed shortly after we really got down to business. It's time to bury those cockroaches NOW. The same should go for the Chinese and the DPRK. Of course, the latter will be tougher, because Kim is killing off as many of his own people as he can already. He doesn't care. He's doing one hell of a job too. The Chinese are a Little more concerned about their image though, atleast it seemed that way, judging from the Chinese reaction in Switzerland. I really got a laugh hearing them Loose it and tell the US to "SHUT-UP". I'm still laughing about it. For a minute there, I thought they were going to have a heart attack. I can't help but think of Bugs Bunny whenever I think about it. " Sha-dap". They need a little payback.

It's time to flood the air-waves with Pro-democracy propaganda from as many TV and radio stations as we can. Not in 2 or 3 weeks, but NOW! We all know that there will be those learned members of congress who'll fight Bush tooth and nail, just like they tried to with Ron Regan. Some of them just don't get it at all. You gotta fight fire with fire. Just like our forest fire fighters do. There'll be more predictions of WW3 and the like, but as we've seen before it "Ain't gonna happen". They'll be to busy fighting off their own people. They used to call it people power back in the 80's.

It's time to tell the world our intentions and "JUST DO IT". Message and Money works everytime.

Honesty the Best Policy

Well, well, well. It looks like the ACLU has bought their own judge. I shouldn't say that they bought her, it's more like she bought into them and they took advantage of the deal. Looked around in their records until they found her. What luck, huh? Sure wish I could do that. There are a few parking tickets I'ld like to have taken care of.

I remember the day she published her ruling on the case. All I heard on the liberal news stations and commentators, was how the Bush administration would FINNALLY have to come clean and abandon their efforts to protect the American People. They were jumping up and down with glee. Now it's been exposed for what it really is. Just another Democratic Partasan attempt to Corrupt the court system. Boy did that blow-up in their faces in a hurry.

All these years of tring to tarnish the Bush admin, and they're still at square one. I guess that they'll never give up. After having their cases shot down in 5 judicial districts, they decided to try and cheat with a sixth.

Last night I heard a comment about how long the Bush tenure was. They tried to make it sound like a lifetime appointment. The only lifetime appointment I know of is for federal judgeships. I think we've got a lot tp worry about. I never really realized how many or how bad that Democratic nominations are. Looks like we are going to get a real education on them over the next few years. It'll be interesting to see just what lengths that the Democrats wil go to.

The best part is that they aren't even apologetic about the affair. Some are still trying to use her ruling as a real Victory for truth, justice, and the American way.
I can only imagine the Uproar if a Republican tried to pull off a stunt like that. It would be never ending on every station in the world.

That's the difference between Republicans and Democrats.Republicans Honestly bring lawsuits and Democrats are willing to do anything to get their way. Bill Clinton did the things he was accused of. George Bush did the things he's accused of, except he was doing it in the name of National security.I don't think it's a bad idea to liten in on Al Qaeda's phone calls. Afterall they did manage to stop the bombing of the Brooklyn Bridge, no matter how much Democrats want to say otherwise. The bombing of the American air carrers was foiled by NSA wiretaps. Who really knows what else has been stopped. We won't find out for another 20 or 30 years or so.

Maybe if the Dems were a little more Honest they would be able to do something. They just don't seem to get the fact that people are tired of all the B.S. in Washington. As bad as the republicans look, democrats look worse because they Lie about so many things. It's about time that they all realize that honesty is the best policy.

The Bright Side

Just got over the worst cold I've had in some time. There's so much going on that I don't know where to start.

I can't believe how fast Illegal Immigration fell off the radar screen. I'll bet they're Really happy in Washington. I haven't heard anything from our senators here in the Great State of Illinois. Til today that is. It's probebly because our Congress hasn't done anything since Aug. 3.That's when they decided to build a Whopping 370 miles of Fencing along our southern border. It's a real deal at a cost of about 1.8 BILLION Dollars. 370 miles, why even bother. There are Illegal Aliens flooding across the border according to all the news reports. On Fox news they reported a 16% increase in overall immigration. Half of them are reportedly Illegal.Approx. 18,000,000. Immigration bills are languishing in both House and Senate. Neither party thinks they can do anything untill After the elections so they're hoping that they won't have to deal with it until during the campaign.

Just another Slap in the Face to the American People, to quote Harry Ried, except this time, He's doing the slapping.

I think it's time to throw the bums out, as the saying goes. Our esteemed leaders in Congress haven't done anything to help the Beleagered American Taxpayer, except add pork to our appropriation bills. They just love to spend our tax dollars, while they sit on their asses looking smart and important. I guess we should just call it what it really is, "POSING". Our elected officials don't care how many Illegal Aliens flood into the country. They all got a big fat raise this year, and that's all they care about. They just know their jobs won't be taken by Illegal Aliens or Outsourced, although they should be. More would probebly get done. What a sweet deal they've dealt themselves over the years.

Well we heard from the honorable Sen DickDurbin today. Here in Chicago, Illinois, we have our very own Illegal Alien holed up in a Methodist church, claiming "Sanctuary", no less. The church is Adalberto United Methodist church in our Humbolt Park neighborhood. Elvira Arellano is defying a deportation order. She was a cleaning woman at O'hare Int. airport. She was picked-up in 2002 during an immigration sweep to secure our Airports after 9-11. She was using a False S.S. number and had been previously been deported, but broke-back in Illegally.

Our home state senator, Sen. Dick Durbin and others of his ilk, urged the Dept. of Homeland Security to let her stay in the country to take care of her son, who just happens to be a U. S. citizen. I guess he was accidentally born here in the U.S.

Quote Sen. Dick Durbin "It's an unfortunate truth that scores of people are in the same situation as Elvira and her family. We cannot remedy the Injustices of this system with private bills for everyone. Only Comprehensive Immigration Reform can remedy the situation". That sounds to me like our esteemed senate has their minds made up.

Screw the American Taxpayers. More unearned Medi-care, more unearned earned income tax credit, more unearned S.S. benefits, more unearned unemployment for Illegal Lawbreaking Aliens.

But then you have to look at the bright side. We are going to get something out of this afterall. The U.S. taxpayers get to PAY for it all.

Read the article; http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/custom/photos/chi-060814deport,1,3848429.story?coll=chi-homepagenews-utl.

Back to the X's

Poor Cynthia. She struck out and is singing the blues. I listened to some of her consession rant, and I don't think she missed blaming anybody or anything. I had to laugh when I heard someone quip that it might have been people with finger nails that were to long, hitting the key above first.

She singled out the voting machines. I wondered if they were those dastardly Debolt machines we've heard about. If not, then we have a cabal of manufacturers out there trying to steal elections. I wonder if you can order republican only, or democrat only vote stealing machines.

I always thought that it was those mean republcans that stole votes from democrats. Here it turns out to be the democrats stealing votes from their fellow democrats. There's a switch.

Before you know it, we'll be marking X's on ballots again. That is if anyone can remember how it was done. It seems to be the only thing we can do.

What About Us?

Well, I took a little vacation up in No. Minnesota to go fishing, and now I'm back. The local newsstations don't have coverage like we do here, so I didn't see very much. From what I have seen since I've been back, I sure didn't miss much.

I see the Isreali's and Hezbollah are still at it. I can also see that the U.N. is still at it. What a joke. 26 or 27 days and they are incapable of doing anything.

One thing I did like tho, was the idea of the French taking the lead on any security ops in Lebanon. Good! It's about time that someone elses troops become the targets. The French are supposedly buddy-buddy with the Arabs and they think they can broker the deal. Let them.

Before I left, I heard Sen. Joe Biden on TV, complaining that the U.S. wasn't taking the lead in the ops. This guy is famous for saying that our troops always end up being the main targets in any situation. In Iraq where we took the lead, he complains about our troops being the main targets of the insurgency. Now he wants to put our troops in harms way by putting them in-between the Israeli's and Hezbollah. What does he think, our troops won't become the targets there? That guy is something else. I realized back in '69 that there were people who wanted to kill Americans, but Joe doesn't seem to get it yet.

The thing that suprises me the most tho, is the coverage the scurmish is getting. It dominates the news. Although I think Israel is right in what it's doing, I'ld still like to hear how our OWN troops are doing, and if they're safe MORE.

Congress and Stem Cells

Here goes our congress to save us again. Our scientists and the congress are going to bring us the next " miracle drug". Stem cells. There seems to be a small problem tho, and no-one wants to talk about it. But our elites in Washington are on the case.

I'm almost 57 and I've seen some "miracle drugs" come and go. Let's look at some.

I grew up during the Atomic Age, and the new "miracle drug" was Radiation. It was going to kill All the Bad Germs and cure cancer. We were told that mankind would live to be 150 years old. Well they are still using the procedure with, let's say mixed results.

Next we had Anti-biotics. We were told back then that the new "miracle drug" would cure cancer and everything else. Mankind would live to ripe old age of 150-175 years old. Now our scientists tell us that WE blew it, by over proscribing. We either took too much or not enough, depending on who you talk to. A lot of diseases are resistant now.

Then when my kids were born the " miracle drug" was umbilical cord blood. The cell part didn't come until later. Scientists were falling all over themselves with predictions of how wonderful life was going to be. They were going to cure cancer and everything else, Again. Mankind would live to a ripe old age of 175 years. It's been 30 years and I would have thought that by now our scientists would have more to show for the effort.

Now it's Stem cells. They're going to cure cancer and everything else. Well they have been workung with them for 15-20 years now and aside froma few positive results, so far as we know, I heard on Wisconsin Public Radio, that some of the expirements are being stopped. I heard that some of the people who've recieved treatments are developing tumors and cancer. Yes, it's pretty hush hush. Nothing in any newspapers about it. They can't tell which stem cells are good and which are bad. All this time I was led to believe they were all good. That' what our congress said. That's what scientists tell us on TV everynight. I feel like I'm not getting the whole truth, so I can make an informed decision.

I guess it's always that way when you have people with an agenda, like congress and scientists. Sometimes I think they would get alot more done if they just told us the whole truth. All they ever want to tell us is 75 or 80% of the story. Why people don't believe them is completely over their heads. If they were just upfront about whatever, we really could decide. Put the question on the ballot. If the American People think it's a good idea, they'll say so loud and clear when we vote. Congress will never let that happen tho, because they're afraid to take a chance. I mean what if the "Will of the People" clashes with the "Will of the Senate"? Then it's a real pain in the butt for them. Then they have to figure out a way to B.S. us into thinking they're on our side, when in reality they're stabbing us in the back, Again.

Who's got the Balls ?

Atleast the Israeli's have them. They aren't afraid to defend themselves. They aren't worried about fighting a politically correct war. It's to bad that it doesn't rub off on some of our own pols like Senators Barak Obama and Dick Durbin.

I can remember back in the 80's Hezbollah was the Al Qaeada of the day. When the word Hezbollah was uttered, ears perked up. Everybody listened. They knew that for the most part, it meant trouble.

It's time to stop screwing around with these guys. The Israeli's are right. The only thing that the Islamists seem to understand is killing. That's all I ever hear when they are interviewed. How to and how many to Kill, God willing.

When we hear radical Islamic leaders say that they can afford to loose 10 troops-1 you have to know they don't care who or how many. The leaders are all in hiding so what does that tell you? That they don't value Human life except their own. Their militarization, basically from childbirth, combined with suicidal brainwashing are truly frightening.

All the complaining about the Israeli occupation, and when they finally leave the Palestinians start shooting rockets into Israel. I would have thought they would have danced in the streets. But that's just me.

These people are Nuts. It reminds me of the North Koreans. There is no-one to negotiate with. We've seen it time after time, and president after president. How many peace accords do we need and have to see broken before people wake-up? It doesn't work. I don't think they really know what they want in the first place. They just seem to have to kill people to justify something or other. What that is, is beyond me.It's not like they don't alrady have a homeland. They do. It's called Lebanon. 90% of the population there is Palestinian.

There really isn't much the U.S. can do. Personally I think Pres. Bush should be sending a couple of Aircraft Carrier battle groups over there for support.

But we ain't got no balls.

What Comes to My Mind

Sen. Dick Durbin returnned from Gitmo today and guess what? He thinks that we should close the place down and the prisoners set loose on the rest of the world. But, and only but, if we guarantee their safety, ofcourse. He doesn't want them to suffer. Some of these places won't even take them back. What are we supposed to do? Set them loose here in America, because we didn't read them their Miranda Rights? I would have thought he would think about it a little but more than on the plane ride back.

After the Tokyo attacks, London Bombings, Bali Bombings, Madrid Bombings, the World Trade Center, and Pentagon, Phillipine Bombings, and most recently the Bombay Bombings, you might have thought that even he could see a pattern, aside from them all being on the 11th.

Not Sen. Dick Durbin. He's a man of steel. Full of convictions ( there were 2 more KIA in the Chicago area again last night) . But those poor terrorists, they need the protection of the U.S. Senate and #2, Sen. Dick Durbin is there to make sure they are protected.

Never mind the small fact that they're Cold Blooded Killers. I should say Natural Born Killers. You can't blame them, it's the way they were raised. Since it started so long ago, around the 50's, it seems to be all they know and all they'll ever know. We've all seen the video's of 10 yr. old Palestinian kids, marching around with their bandannas and little toy machine guns. Training. We've all seen and heard about the Madrassas, from here to Timbuktoo and what they preach. Training.

They're training the next Generation of Suicide Killers right now. We get to fund it too! Where do you think our foreign aid goes?

All over the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Malasia, Canada, India, and Kashmir. These people never seem to tire of endless bloodshed. On and on and on, ad infanatum.

A couple of old sayings come to mind, and seem to be as true today as they were then. One is "No good deed goes unpunished". Back in the 50's, terrorist leaders were hunted down by their police, so they fled to the west seeking political asylum because of their fear for their own lives. We here in the West were enlightened. We said don't even worry about the 500 or 1000 of your fellow Countrymen you blew to smithereens, and granted their requests. I think our generocity is coming back to haunt us Big Time.

The other saying is, " Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it". I sure hope that we don't have to go through that 60's anti-war B.S. again.

The Big Immigration Breakthrough?

Well today, one of my senators, Dick Durbin, is off to Gitmo, to check on the health and welfare of the Terrorist detainees. We had about 7 people gunned down here in Chicago over the weekend, and Sen. Dick Durbin went to Gitmo. After all we can't have terrorists suffering. How does that make us look, or feel?

Illegal Aliens are streaming across our border, but Dick Durbin went to Gitmo. Can't say anything about Obama, because we never hear anything about him, except that he's "presidential material".

Tonight on Lou Dobbs, one of his guests was Rep. Mike Spence(R-Ind.), who came on the show with an explaination of a possible Breakthrough in the Immigration standoff.

Boy, did it Suck. It almost sounded to me like the "Will of the Senate" warmed-up all over again. He wants to seal off the border for a couple of years before letting people line-up at "Ellis Island Centers" outside of the country to apply for Green cards, work visas, or whatever. I can't wait to see where they set-up these "Ellis Island Centers". What a name. Then when the Dept. of Homeland Insecurity certifies the borders are secure in about 2 years (huh?) it'll probebly be business as usual again. Congress wants to get to WORK and set-up a guest worker program. A Secure Border in only 2 years? They must think that the American People are real Goofballs to fall for that one. It's been 6 mos. since we were going to get 2,500 troops to help on the border, but so far all we've managed is 900, and they didn't even make it all the way there yet.

I keep hearing on the news about all the states passing laws to make Illegal Aliens Illegal again. What a concept. 27 so far and Colorado is in play right now. City and town leaders are finally doing their duty. That's to Protect the American people from invasions.

I still haven't heard anything about cracking down on employers yet and holding them accountable. Just like our congress is so fond of telling us about, but only when it has to do with someone else, not them ofcourse. The fastest way to get rid of Illegals is to go after their employers. We won't have to deport anybody. Once the jobs go away, they'll go home or maybe Canada. Maybe they'll even demand their Human Rights back in their own countries. They shouldn't have much trouble protesting there, after all they're pretty good at it here in the U.S.

I just had to Email Spence, Durbin, and Obama tonight to let them know what I thought of the New Breakthrough, not that it will do any good. I just keep getting the same old B.S. about how they are going to take my opinions into consireration. Then they invite me for coffee and donuts if I'm ever in the capitol. Not from Barak Obama though, he just doesn't reply at all. I never get anything back from him.

Did I mention Sen. Dick Durbin went to Gitmo today to check on the saftey of the Terrorists?

I Wonder Why

What a day this is turning out to be. My son watching a program about global warming and all the talk about the "DEMOCRATIC PEOPLES REPUBLIC of KOREA". (There's an oxymoron for you.) I don't know where to start.

Let's try global warming, again! Yes the earth is warming and sea levels are rising. As far as I can tell, and from what scientists are saying, it's been like that for the last 15,000 or 20,000 years. Back then the Midwest was buried under 1 1/2 mile thick sheet of ice. Back then noone lived here. I can only imagine how many species have been killed off in all those eons. Millions.

Noone ever wants to talk about what started global warming 20,000 years ago. My son tells me that scientists drilled out ice cores that go back 2,000 years and they show earth is warming up. My question is, 'Why didn't they drill down to 25,000 or 35,000 years ago'? The sad truth is that the earth was getting colder and they don't want to tell anyone that. The Earth has weather cycles. Duh! I find it hard to believe that Indians, or even cavemen, would have been able to burn enough WOOD to get the CO2 ball rolling.

But you never know, maybe they were "environmentally conscious" and didn't cut down old growth forests. Maybe they all caught fire at the same time, from a lightning strike or something like that flooding the atmosphere with CO2. Just like the giant fires we're having, this and every year here in the U.S.A. Instead of admitting Bad management, we say global warming. I hear that they are having floods in Colorado now in the areas that were burned out last year. I think mother nature is telling us to clear out the old stuff in the forests or she'll do it for us and we humans probebly won't like the results. I think it's time for the powers that be to WAKE-UP. But I'm sure that "More rain because of global warming" will be blamed and not bad management.

The only thing that can explain the warm-up, 20,000 years ago, is increased Solar activity. Let's get real here. What else could it be. There were No cars, power plants, jet airplanes, or anything else. Only ice and lots of it. Oh yah, and some trees around the equator.

A couple of weeks ago, I heard a quick report on some of the temperature observations on the planet Mars. They've been watching the planet for atleast 25 years now, and the scientists reported that the temperature is Rising. Imagine what a revelation like coming out in public could do to some causes. It was on FOX News, and I never heard it again on that or any other channel. It sounds to me like noone wants that report released to the general public. I wonder why?

More Hard Congressional Work

Well, what a suprise. Congress is holding hearings to ask a bunch of activists what the "American People" think about Illegal Immigration. If it wasn't so expensive, I might laugh about it. Atleast the House hearings seem to have some credibility to them. They atleast went to where the problem is.

The Senate is another matter. It looked like only 2 of our esteemed senators even bothered to even show up. Arlen and Ted. You know who's side they're on in this game they're playing on the "American People". The jokes on us, but I don't get it.

Today we heard the Mayor of New York City say that New York City would go belly-up if they didn't have Illegal Aliens there. I could hardly believe my ears. Wall Street-Gone. The Bronks- devestated. Long Island and Park Ave. mansions- all being sold off in a fire sale for $25,000, just to unload them. I find that premise laughable. NYC looking like an old west ghost town, just because a bunch of Illegal Aliens had to go back to their own Homelands.

Next, we heard from the Agri-business lobby. Prices for our products might go up. That's the funniest of all. Since when has the Agri-business lobby ever worried about anything but their own profits? Milk here in the Chicago area, The Midwest, is $4.00 a gallon. What's it going to do, go up another $0.25 a gallon more? Let's face it, prices can only go up so much before they start to kill off their own businesses. I also think that will drive executive pay packages down considerably, because they'l have to show cost savings somewhere.

There will be some turmoil for a while, but it'll work itself out like it always seems to, despite what the nay-sayers say.

NO congressional work done in the chambers for the lsst couple of days. Probebly ecause they had to Jet around the country for the hearings.

My Missle Position

All this concern about North Korea's missle launch is beyond me. Who cares? It's not like we wouldn't know where the launch took off from. I also find it highly doubtful that anyone in the whole world would believe that the govt. in place Didn't Know that a whole complex was erected for a launch. With all the spy sats. flying around, someone would have to be able to detect the project.

I don't think Al Qaiada in Afghanastan, or Mesopotamia, or any other crazies would be interested. Well interested maybe, but highly impractible for them.

Let's face facts here, Kim Jong Il ain't crazy. He plans on living a long time at any cost. He and everyone else knows that we would retalliate agalnst the perpetrators. After all with Goerge Bush as Pres. the world is more afraid of us than anyone else in the world. That's GOOD as far as I'm concerned.

The only problems I see, are if N.K. gains access to space. Once he can place sattelites there, He can cause some real problems for everyone. He's got a long way to go before that happens. I hope.

How Do We get Rid of Jihadi's ?

The big question is "What can we do about changing Jihadi tendencies?" It's something I've thought about, not long and hard, but off and on.

We should bring all the women and children here, and a program for it already exists. It's called the "Foreign Exchange Program". We let kids from Europe come and I think it changes attitudes at home when they leave here. American Freedoms and Culture, tho shocking to some, are the envy of the world. If you look at a country like Iran, where the powerful hate and demonize us, the young like us and want to have some of the things we have like Freedom.

Let's face it, people are killing themselves to get in here and for most, it's only because of what they've heard. Once they're here it doesn't take long for our lifestyle and liberties to become engrained. Now we even have ILLEGAL ALIENS marching in our streets, demanding their non-existant rights. Something they can't even do in their own countries.

Even Mohammed Atta was becoming "Americanized". He and another 911 hijacker spent their last night on earth at a " strip joint", drinking and ? I would have thought that such devout Muslims would have spent it on their knees, praying to Allah for strength and guidance.

People break-in to our country by sneaking accross our borders and use entry-visas and never leave. Why? Is it because they hate it here, but are trapped? Not. It's because they can do here what they can't do in their Home countries, Live and Breathe Free.

Women are the major influence on men and culture. Maybe not so much in the Middle East now, but once upon a time they were more like property here too. They got a little freedom and things changed, for better or worse, depending on your point of view. Once they 've driven, voted, walked down the street with or without a burka witout being bothered, when they go back , they'll push for change and push hard. I'm reminded of the movie "The Godfather",the part where Michael is in Italy and his new wife, Appolonia, wants to drive over to him. His bodyguards comment was "She'll make a fine American wife, boss". You could just see in his eyes, that they didn't go for that Women's Lib stuff, but look at them now.

All men in free societies know the influence women have over men. I know my wife got me to settle down.

Did You Ever See "Good Fellows"?

Did Osama bin Laden and al-Qaida have Abu Musab al-Zarqawi killed? Sure makes sense to me. Everybody in the world knew that bin Laden and Zawahri didn't agree with Zarqawi's methods. They realized the mistakes they made in Afghanistan when bin Laden and the Taliban rode rough-shod over the people. The Afghans were supporting the Taliban, but they killed and tortured that support right out of them. I can still see in my mind that women kneeling down and then getting her brains blown out in that stadium. I guess they were just trying to explain things to the Afghans. They must have figured that a picture is worth a thousand words. Toe the line. Besides, I think bin Laden is more interested in getting Saudi Arabia. He hates them and they hate him. He probebly just wants training for his men and Iraq's a good place for it.

So what better way to change their ( al-Qaida) direction in Iraq than to set him up? Kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Get rid of Zarqawi, to put your man in, and get the American's to do it. That way you can keep the party faithful, faithful and riled up because they've been duped into thinking the American's did it. I think that we'll see a lot more attacks on our troops instead of on the Iraqi people in the coming days. More in line with al-Qaida's thinking.

Let's face it, we've seen lots of people get ratted out here in America. Politicians and even some criminals too. I mean, after-all, haven't we all seen "Good Fellows"? If you want to see it for real and in person, just go to Washington D.C.

No Support

Well, the Senate didn't do much today really. Guess they forgot about Border security, health care, etc. They haven't been in session since the 15th so, we weren't really hurt. They took their solemn duty and confirmed a judge. Yawn.

There was some action on the 15th tho. A LOT of huffing and puffing about Iran. They expressed the "Will of the Senate" and TOLD Iran not to build any nuclear bombs. They sure told them too, boy. So there. It's to bad they don't have the Guts to back it up and support the Pro-democracy Iranians.

The Santorum Ammendment came up for a vote also and was soundly rejected. A special THANX to the 11 Republicans who jumped ship.

The Santorum ammend. #4234; To authorize, with an offset, asssistance for Pro-Democracy people in Iran. To make clear the U.S. supports their ability to exercise self-determination over their form of govt. Defeated. 53-46

Both Senators from Illinois, Barak Obama and Dick Durbin, voted against it also. The "Will of the Senate" is that we can Not help them fulfill their Dreams. Our Senate Told Iran not to build a bomb, and make them MAD, or Else. I guess they figure that's all it's going to take. They don't need to add any extra pressure, because the "Will of the Senate" was expressed to the mullahs. I can just see them on their camels, racing out of town to tear everything down.

Me, I think anything we can do to screw them up, the Better. Bringing on as much CHAOS as we can seems to be the smartest thing we can do. Enough trouble on the homefront and it has to slow everthing down. A blind man can see that the Iranians are running a game on us. Just like the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

It's a good thing we have Tough senators like Barak Obama and Dick Durbin from here in Illinois. N.Y. might have Hillary and Mass., Ted, but just look at what we have. Yes sir, they are Impressive.

No Support for the Pro-Democracy Iranians, No Support for the American position, No Support for our Ports ( Yes Dubai does own them NOW, the senate Quietly took the origional language out of the bill), and apparently No Support for our Airlines now either. They don't seem to have much trouble stopping judges and stuff they don't like.

Definately No Support for securing Our Borders. Just more Crying from people like Carl Levin( he always seems to be in such pain, poor thing), Joe Biden, Pelosi, and the usual suspects.

Only 1 Year

Since we saw parts of the captured letter from al Zarqawi back to headquarters, I expect to see a full court press by Democrats and anti-war activists to bad mouth the Iraq war and change public opinion. They have to. We haven't seen much of the letter, by the way, and I guess that can be explained because it's GOOD NEWS and the TRUTH. The only response the left is making is that they don't believe it because they didn't see the soldiers actually take the zipdrive from his pocket.

Cong. Murtha was all over the airways Sunday and he's was breathing heavy. He really seems to want the U.S. to loose or just quit. Why, just so the Dems can point their fingers? I'm sure the left would like nothing better than to be able to say America lost another war under a Republican administration.

Just like with Viet Nam, we're still hearing that we lost the war. Noone ever will admit the TRUTH and admit that we just QUIT and hung the Vietnamese out to DIE, not dry this time.

I remember John Kerry on TV every nite of the week back then, just like now. American soldiers did this and American troops did that. Never anything GOOD about them. Just like his book that he won't allow to be reprinted states, AMERICA is the ROOT of ALL EVIL. American troops are MURDERERS and THUGS and BAD.

This morning, Murtha was complaining that this war was lasting longer than Korea did. Is he kidding or what? We still have 37,000 troops on the FRONT LINES protecting the south from an invasion from the north. We're still protecting Europe with 80,000 troops from an invasion.

President Clinton told us that our troops would only be in Bosnia for 1 year. How long has it been now? 10 years? Americans are providing 3/4 of the troops (17,000) , all the fuel, the helicoptors, the repair parts, the trucks, the armor, and everything else. We never hear about that. It's like the place doesn't even exist anymore.

Sometimes I think that the President should have done what Bill Clinton did. Just LIE to the American people, and just say 1 year.

Minimum Wage

So, Nancy and Teddy and Harry and the rest of the Democrats think that our Nation needs to raise the Minimum Wage again. Maybe if we cracked down and deported the Illegal Aliens, wages would rise Naturally (DAH!) and Taxes would go down and we'ld even reduce the deficiet. But seeing as we're dealing with congresspersons, chances of that happening are Slim.

Since the "WILL of the SENATE" was expressed on the Immigration bill, it seems Congress has been doing any and everything to get the bill to die. It's like the House and Senate reached a truce or something. Don't bring it up. Let sleeping dogs lie. All the while we have more and more Illegal Aliens flooding in and Higher and Higher costs to go with it.

Just a couple of things. 1 Insurance bills would drop, because Illegals wouldn't be here driving with no insurance. 2 Tax bills would drop, or rather should drop, because we wouldn't have the expense of educating their children and paying for their health care. Insurance is becoming a thing of the past, because Illegals have driven Wages down so low for Everyone EXCEPT the Politicians. They Voted Themselves a Big Fat One the Other Day.

But Congress tells us that they can't catch them or find them. IT'S TOO HARD TO DO.

I have an idea aside from the obvious, which is going after Employers. Why don't they set up some ROADBLOCKS? You know, like the kind they have when they declare OPEN SEASON on motorists in honor of Every Holiday we have.

When our elected officials need more revenue, they don't seen to have much trouble calling out the Dogs to make sure you have your Seatbelt on or talking on the Telephone, but they can't find any Illegal Aliens. The Police in Texas, were going into Bars where I ( for one) would expect to see people drinking, then giving field sobriety tests, and then arresting people. Even ones with Designated drivers, in an attempt to GET THE MONEY. Would you believe it, even in Texas they can't seem to find any Illegals, anywhere. Wait, I think I answered my own question. GET THE MONEY. I guess that our elected officials see arresting them that as an expense. They already know they wouldn't be able to fine them. Besides, what would we do with all those Spanish interpreters at the courthouses.

We have got to be the laughing stock of the Whole World.

Another Example of Congressional Competance

Debolt Voting Machines. Here we go again. Another election upon us, and we're still hearing the same old arguements. After we discovered the that there are to many people out there who can't follow directions with a sheet of paper in 2000, the nation's legislators swung into action all across the this great land. Whipped up by the Media they promised us the best and latest voting machines on the face of the earth to ensure that our votes Counted. They spent Millions. They sure didn't worry about Paper trails and the like back then.

Thus the Electronic Age came to the American People. Not long after, the chorus started. No Paper Trail. No Reliability testing is possible. From the Very Same People who Bought Them in the 1st Place.

Let's see now. Since 2000, we've gone through 3 national elections and we're still hearing the same stuff everytime. Not one Town, City, County, State, or anybody has bothered to either find out about if they work, or if anyone has tested them. You can't expect Democrats to do it, because then when they loose an election they won't have anything to blame. You have to wonder "Why". You would think that in all this time Somebody, Sometime, Somewhere they would have checked it out by now.

Me, I like the old Voting machines we used to have in Chicago. You step in, or do whatever to get in, and pull the "close curtain" lever. Then you take your finger and push the levers down under your choices. You can't push 2 levers in the same catagory because there is an interlock to stop you. You have to push the other lever up, and then make your selection again. Then you can stand there and look at your choices and make sure you have the ones what you wanted. When you pull the "close curtain" lever again, it records your vote and resets the levers.

No paper trail with that one either. If you want to see if the machine is working properly, you open up the back, push some levers, and look and see if the gears turned and it did what you wanted it to.

Simple and Easy. What's wrong with that. I don't think we a bunch of scientists figuring this one out. They all seemed to work just Fine for Years.

Scientist's make a new Discovery (Again)

FLASH; BREAST MILK BETTER than FORMULA for BABIES!!!!!

Once again our Learned Scientists have made another Major discovery to take Mankind to new soaring heights. For the last 30 or 35 years they have been brow-beating the World into believing Baby Formula is what babies need to survive. The Best. They must have all been wondering how mankind survived all these centuries. Not anymore. New Discoveries have solved the Riddle. Breast milk protects our children from a myriad of infections and diseases and allergies that for years our scientists were blaming on our bad management of the environment.

It seems the our scientists have been making a lot of discoveries as of late. They've discovered that the Natural Foods that Mankind has eaten and evolved to eat for millions of years are actually good for us. What gives? Are they saying all that stuff they dreamed up for the last 50 years isn't that good for us? I'm in shock. Someone has to be mistaken.

Butter, eggs, whole milk, Breast milk, coffee, chocolate, wine, ALL GOOD? I can remember as a kid , how me and my friends would joke and laugh about how it would be if someday they discovered Chocolate was good for you. I never even dreamed that I would actually see the day.

What a Discovery !!!!!!!

When I hear stuff like this, it really makes me Wonder about other things they've said. Like GLOBAL WARMING. I'm old enough to remember the "ICE AGE" scare crisis back in the 1980's. All we heard about for Years about the "LOOMING Ice Age". Noone knew what we were going to do. The looming "Ice Age" made the covers of TIME and NEWSWEEK magazines for months. We had Scientific Papers, Newspaper stories, and, ofcourse, plenty of Congressional Gas. It went on and on ad nauseum. Our Learned Scientists and the Know-it-all elites don't want to talk about that SOLID SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE they presented to the world back then, tho.

Now it's GLOBAL WARMING. What a crock of B.S. While watching the Weather Channel last week, their meteorologists were saying that this year was shaping up exactly like 1934. They also said that we were heading into a new 25 year weather pattern. They knew it was a 25 year cycle because they've seen it over and over in their records. A strong weather cycle followed by a weaker one.

I sure hope that our Congress follows their past traditions and doen't do anything, just like during the near "Ice Age". One thing's for sure, They DO NOT have a clue. Besides in 25 or so years, we'll probably be talking about the LOOMING "ICE AGE" Again, when the weather patterns change Again.

Carl Rove and American Justice.

Those Poor Democrats and Assorted Liberals. Another bad news day for them. Already Chuck Schumer is beating the drum. He's demanding that the special prosecuter, Fitz, break the law and release or Leak Grand Jury testimony. But then he'ld have to investigate himself for leaking.

You really have to give those guys credit. For 6 years they've been trying to do something, anything to bring down the Bush admin. or atleast someone in it. Nothing seems to work. Their assault has been unrelenting. From every newspaper in the country sending 75 reporters to Florida, to try and get someone dirty, to michael Moore to Dan Rather and Cindy. What a joke.

I'll bet Ted Kennedy started spitting again when he heard the news.

Carl Rove, basically, has been EXONORATED finally after 5 Grand Jury appearances. Instead all they got was another Kennedy pleading GUILTY to a DUI.

It must be obvious to everyone by now, that Pat Fitzgerald didn't think Valerie Plame was a "Secret Agent" either. Noone has been charged with leaking her name. So far only 1 Reporter has gone to jail.

Well, there's always tomorrow. If they keep at it long and hard enough, maybe they'll eventually come up with another Non-crime. They've got 2 more years to do it.

What the Senate Says

The last time I applied for a job, they handed me a bunch of forms to fill out. They also wanted my Criminal History, and last but not least , the Urine test.

I couldn't help but think that they're spending all this Money and time and effort to check me out and I'm supposed to believe that it's to Hard and Expensive to check and see if someone has a REAL SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER? I find that hard to believe, well maybe not.

Then again Maybe we could try Employer Punishment, by enforcing the laws we have on the books now. As a matter of fact, 1 of our Il. Senators (Barak Obama) had nothing but praise for the idea of a new database for that purpose. The only problem is that there Won't be any funding for a database for atleast 2 years after enactment. What good will that do?

But we've been told by our SENATORS, that that is "THE WILL OF THE SENATE".

All in a Day's Work

Well let's see what our Senate did today. NOTHING. Nothing since 6-8. I guess they are busy doing other things, I mean taking care of the people's business. Well atleast they aren't hurting us.

They were in session for about a week before 6-8 to vote for a couple of judges, but they ALL voted "Yea", so what's the point? They were off for the previous 2 weeks, I guess to discuss the Judicial Nominations.

Forget about Soc. Sec., the Budget, Immigration, the new hurricane season levy repairs, or even todays report about the increase in the violent crime rate. See how Your senator voted on the nominees, before they beat it out of town, AGAIN. I can be proud, both of the Senators from the Great State of Il. voted "YEA". I guess they don't know about the 15 or so citizens of Chicago that were gunned down this past weekend. Click on the Senate Votes links in the sidebar.

Maybe they'll be back tomorrow to discuss those more Mundane issues. I believe that the only thing that could drag them back now would be a Gripe Session about the detainees committing suicide or BANNING Ann Coulter. That's important.

Chicago's DEMOCRATIC "CULTURE of CORRUPTION" Highlites

Four weeks old and here's what's happening.

MAY 15: Asst. U.S. atty. Pat Collins tells jurors the defendants ( Sorich and McCarthy) schemed to reward Pro-Daley workers with Jobs and Promotions. Sorich's atty. answers with they weren't doing anything that hasn't been done in Chicago for years. He argued that a crime hasn't even been commited.

MAY 16,18: Mary Jo Falcon, a former personnel director for the Sewer and Water Management Dept., testifies that for 11 years she recieved "BLESSED LISTS" of preselected job applicants from the defendants, and made sure those people were taken care of.

MAY 22: Joseph Gagliano, former Deputy Sewers Commissioner, testifies that Victor Reyes, who once ran the Mayors Office of Inter. Gov. Affairs and is head of the powerful Pro-Daley Hispanic Democratic Org., is in on the scheme. He said Reyes pushed through a bricklayer who came late, left early, and did a lousy job.

MAY 24: John Kosiba, the highest ranking Daley aide to testify, said he never spoke to Daley about hiring and promations.

MAY 26,30,31: Jack Drumgould, retired personnel director in Streets and San., testifies under cross-exam that he made sure the Chicago Skyway Tollway was fully manned, because the Mayor went that way to his Summer Home in Grand Beach, Mi. He also said the interview process for jobs at Streets and San. was a sham because the winners were pre-selected.

MAY 31, JUNE 1: David Katalinic, a former deputy in Streets and San. and the 5th defendant in the case, testifies he built a White patronage army at Sorich's request. In return he asked Sorich's help in getting Jobs and Promos. He pled guilty to taking $15,000 in "Hired Truck" program bribes.

JUNE 5,6: Dom Tomczak, longtime #2 at the city's Water Dept., testifies that from the time Daley took office, he maintained a large political army of City Workers. He took orders from the Mayors Office and was rewarded with Jobs and Promotions, a process he called "BEING MADE". He admitted taking $400,000 in "Hired Truck" program bribes.

More to come.

A Wake-up Call?

All this time we've been hearing movie stars and others talk about leaving the U.S. for Canada and a better way of life. A couple of people have, but noone of any consequence. I really wish they would tho. Then we could get a 1st hand account about what it's like to live in a country where the Government can LEGALLY spy on you. They have their very own spy agency(CSIS) to spy on their very own people. Imagine that.

Wikipedia has this description: MISSION- "The people of CSIS are dedicated to the protection of Canada's national security intrests and safety of Canadians". CSIS does NOT have an active foreign intell department, but SOLELY acts as a DOMESTIC service to collect intell with the goal of protecting from internal and external threats. CSIS officers and surveilance personnel may work internationally,in their effort to monitor and counter threats to Canadian security.

CSIS states it's role Programs that are Pro-active and Pre-emptive, to investigate threats, analize info, produce intell reports, and advise the Canadian Gov.

Two different commissions, 1 by Justice MacKenzie in 1969 and the other by Justice McDonald in 1977, recommended that security intell functions be seperated from the RCMP and that a civillian service be formed. Both commissions recognized that the problem of balancing the need for accurate security intell with the need to respect democratic rights and freedoms couldn't be adequately resolved as long as security intell responsibilities remained part of the federal police force.

I can only imagine the Grief we'ld hear from our friends on the left if the U.S. was doing that.

Maybe it's time we woke-up to the fact that People out there want to KILL us.

You can read a full report titled " How Internet Monitoring Sparked a CSIS Probe" by clicking here.

Chicago's DEMOCRATIC "CULTURE of CORRUPTION" #2

Donald Tomczak, a key prosecution witness in the Chicago City Hall trial, said Mayor Daley's patronage chief ordered him to hire a politically connected person who was "somewhat of a drinker". He also repeatedly engineered the promotions of workers with clout over more qualified candidates.

Tomczak said he warned Daley aide Robert Sorich that the man, a political worker under Ald Ed Burke(14th), could cause injuries on water dept. jobs because of his drinking. But Tomczak said Sorich said "Work it out Don". He was hired and put to work at the Jardine Filtration Plant.

Prosecutors hope the testimony supports their contention that clout mattered more than qualifications. Under cross-exam Sorich's lawyer prodded Tomczak into admitting that Sorich was only one of several players in the exact same system "That has existed for years, since Daley became Mayor in 1989.

Former personel directors of the City's Water, Sewers, and Streets and Sanitation depts., told jurors they recieved "Blessed Lists" of political workers from Sorich and Tim Mc Carthy, Sorich's aide and co-defendant.

Two directors testified they falsified ratings forms to ensure the hiring of favored applicants. They and other witnesses said the City's interview process for many blue-collar jobs was a Charade. The fraud alledgedly was designed to get around the decades old legal restrictions against City Hall patronage called "The Shakman Decree".

Under cross-exam Tomczak said Sorich answered to higher-ups, former top Daley aides,Victor Reyes and John Doerrer. He said he arranged one promotion for an unqualified political worker and because of it had to bring in an extra man with more experience to back him up.

His testimony also blunted the City's arguement that the Mayor's Office got involved in it to promote "racial diversity". He said most were White.

A former Water Dept, commissioner, Phyllis Bergthold, said said she met with Sorich from 1993-2002 to get names the Mayor's Office wanted promoted. She said she told Federal agents that the names were" Recommendations or Preferred candidates" and admitted that the vast majority of them were hired or promoted. Here's a guy that's hardly even been on a military base, and he knows more about running the war and military ops than some general that's trained his whole life for it? When he was asked about a war plan, all he did was go on about Geo. Bush losing the war. Nothing about a plan on how the Democrats would win it. Just CUT, RUN, and BLAME the PRESIDENT, Repubs., or the "NEO-CONS".

I remember the number of soldiers KIA (200 per week)in V.N., Mi Lai, Hanoi Jane, and our hero John Kerry.

Listening to Kerry, Mertha, Biden, et. al., I'm reminded of Viet Nam all over again. Back then we had a congress that thought they knew more about winning the war than the generals also. We all know what that led to. 150,000 American KIA and wounded.

But Sen. Joe Biden knows what to do.

Chicago's "DEMOCRATIC CULTURE of CORRUPTION"

Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick Collins; " Were they the best men for the job?"

Chicago Water Dept. #2 Donald Tomczak; "No. They were active in my political group and did a good job." That program was touted by the Mayor as good for Chicagoans, altho he didn't specify which ones exactly. The idea was to give his cronies a lot of Tax Dollars for renting their trucks. Like we don't have enough. Some of them were caught Stealing and Selling city-owned asphalt instead of delivering it to city work sites. We're finding out again just how close Mayor Daley and Gov. Blagojevich really are. It seems they went to the same school. They have lists of names of people who are going to get a job. Nothing political ofcourse.

Chicago's story is an old one. It's been going on for years and years. Mayor Daley never knows anything about anything. The whole rest of the city and county know whats going on. You only hire people who are on the "Jobs List". (In all honesty, the city people used Index cards). Forget about "qualifications". Last year, the City tried to hire 2 nineteen year olds to be City Building Insectors. Their fathers were Union Leaders tho, so I can only guess that their kids had vast experience despite their youth. Then, when the story broke, we got deluged with the usual "I don't know's", "We're going to get to the bottom of this", Etc. Finally after about a week City hall DISCOVERED that they weren't really qualified, and were let go. More on Chicago's "Culture of Corruption" later. The trials of underlings is going on right now and they're ALL trying to get less jail time, so I'll have to update.

Next, Gov. Blagojevich. He tried to lay the blame on the previous adninistration's hiring practices. It only took them 3 years to discover what was happening. The Governor's press secretary said that the practice stopped long ago. The very next day, the Tribune reported that the Federal Investigators said the practice stopped 2 Days AFTER they learned about the FEDERAL INVESTIGATION going on.

The Gov. is pretty tight-lipped right now so, I can see I'm going to have to cover each of Illinois's "CULTURE of CORRUPTION" cases seperately. I like that name for it. Thankx Nance, Harry.

Alternative Fuel

I watched Sen. Joe Biden's interview on "Meet the Press" Sunday and reached the same conclusions I always do. Every time they have him on a show, it's the old thing. They act like he actually knows what he's talking about.

One subject was Alternative Fuels, and he said he would have demanded we have alt. fuel cars by 2010. He seemed to imply that the fuel would be cheaper than plain gas. Noone ever calls these guys on that point. The only reason we are hearing about alt. fuels now is because it's Cost Competetive with gas NOW. If they make them, and the price of gas falls, and it will, then what? If you don't TAX the hell out of it, we'll just use Gas again.

Same thing for these electric cars. I don't know about anyone else, but I've never had a battery last more than 6 years. There are alot of big batteries in those cars and replacement won't be cheap. That doesn't even consider the cost of disposal. What happens in an accident, do we have to get a "Hazmet" team out there for the clean-up?

I think it's time to start using our brains here, and start asking the real hard questions and stop letting these goofs sing and dance arond them.

PAYBACK

HOMEGROWN TERRORISM in CANADA? I can't believe the reports coming in. Whooaa!!!! Surely you jest. 12 adults and 5 young adults, all Canadian citizens, arrested on suspicion of planning a series of attacks in Ontario targetting their most famous landmarks. Nothing in the U.S.A. tho. Looks like their liberal policies are going to payoff for them. They sure showed us. Maybe now they'll wake-up.

Reports are they were fairly far along in planning and training. Al Queda inspiration goes along way. I believe that one of Bin Laden's hire-ups, Ahmed Qatar, who was killed in Pakistan, was called by him "Al Canadi", the Canadian, and then there's the Millenium Bomber.

Thank God Steve Harper is there, but I'm sure they will still find a way to blame the U.S. for this.

In the famous words POGO uttered, " We have met the ENEMY, and it is US". Our liberal ideas and policies have gotten us where we are today. It goes back to the 50's& 60's, when the terrorist bombings first started.

These terrorists were blowing up Cairo, Damascus, Beruit, you name it, Then fleeing to the U.S., Canada, and European countries seeking political asylum, claiming that they would be tortured and killed if they were sent back where they committed their attrocities.

We ENLIGHTENED PEOPLE of the world said, "You're Right, you can stay here. Never mind the FACT that you blew 500 or 600 of your fellow citizens to smithereens. Those people will never understand why you had to blow-up their MOTHERS, FATHERS, SISTERS, and BROTHERS, they might hurt you, don't worry . We'll protect you from those BARBARIANS".

Now I guess they've decided to repay our understanding and generosity the only way they know how.

Sen. Green Jeans and the Windmill Factory.

"This is a Big, Ugly Political maneuver by a handful of people who are Undermining America's energy security", said Micheal Vickerman, executive director of RENEW Wisconsin, a non-profit that promotes renewable power.

Here we are moaning and groaning about bad energy policy. The story is an old one. America doesn't produce oil enough to meet her own demand. Not many do.We could produce more, but Democrats and their allies manage to block all attempts to try. They demand that we try alternatives. Solar, electric, and Wind.

The Chicago Tribune had a little story about Windmills on 5-31. The proposed CAPE WIND PROJECT, and lots of them in the Midwest, have been put on hold by some powerful politicians and they're using the FAA to do it.

Leading the charge, or I should say Hold, Sen. Ted KENNEDY and his nephew Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Yah, The environmental lawyer and activist. They support turbines everywhere else, just NOT IN THEIR BACKYARDS.

REASON; "It'll spoil the ocean veiw, Threaten the tourist economy, and might endanger migratory birds".

Spoil the ocean view? Where do these people come from? The project was moving forward, so they got a republican ally to add an ammendment to a military spending bill. Just one sentence directing the Defense Department to STUDY whether Wind Towers interfere with the Radar signal of small aircraft. That was it. Everything stopped. Done. Fini. NADA. Both the FAA and the Air Force had already signed off on the projects.

Opponents say there are legit concerns. They point to a British Govt. study that found rotating turbine blades could interfere. I guess they forgot about the part that stated Developers SOLVED the Problem by installing new software at the Radar station and realigning some radar towers.

That's not good enough for Ted & Co. tho. New construction has stopped. One's that are in operation already, can continue even tho they are WITHIN SIGHT of RADAR SYSTEMS.

President Bush is out there trying to encourage more of it's use, saying Wind Power could supply 20% of our power. Quickly too. Imagine not having the enviro problems we have with coal and nuclear technology.Horizon Wind Energy, the company that was going to build the Wind farm on 50 square miles of land here in Illinois, agreed not to do any harm to anything. From subsidizing cable TV, if there are reception problems, to repaving the roads when construction is done. Not to mention the jobs. They thought that getting the permit would be the easy part. HAH!!!

The Good News; Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois says that we can't continue without that report, GOOD or BAD in a Timely manner. Of course that was about a year ago. These Senators KNOW that this is way down on the list, because the Department has other things on it's mind. So, NO windmills.

I guess they're worried about Sen. Green Jeans's, OOP's I meant, Sen. Ted Kennedy's PRIVATE JET disappearing off the RADAR screens.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ciacon.blogspot.com/2006/06/sen-green-jeans-and-windmill-factory.html' title='Sen. The European court said that their respective govts. don't have the right to give out that info. They think Big Brother is spying on them. Today I ran across a little item that might intrest some.

It's about the British Police. They forced more than 3000 of it's citizens, it branded as "HOOLIGANS", to turn in their passports 30 days prior to the World Cup being held in Germany.

In addition, their keeping a "BIG BROTHERLY" eye on them at home too. They have to register at the Police Station EVERYDAY that Briton has a game.

That's not enough? Get this; They're maintaining a computerized database, patrolling departure lounges, and CHECKING AIRPORT PASSENGER LISTS. The ACLU and the newspapers would have a field day with this one.

I would have posted this sooner, but our electric was out when I got home. I'll talk about that tomarrow.

Why is ENGLISH such a difficult language?

A great bebate raged in the Senate last week, and most probebly don't even know what it was about. Our elected elites, preened and posed, and sweated . That's the day Sen. Kennedy went bonkers. Yes, No. Yes, No. Agonizing arm-twisting hours passed, but the debate went on.

The Question you ask? Is it racist to make "ENGLISH", our official language here in the good ole U.S.A. I could hardly believe it. Our Senators DON'T KNOW if we should all be able to communicate in "INGLEZ". Thankfully, I don't have to be embarrased because the Senators from Illinois think that they should atleast be able to read stop signs in english. We'll see what the conference committee dreams up. I feel like we just turned into Canada or something. Every year or so, it seems like Quebec wants to form it's own country. Is that what we're in for if we end up with a section of the nation that speaks another language?

Last time I checked, the Declaration and Constitution were written in, well, ENGLISH. It's a good thing too, otherwise I'ld have to learn another language. Besides, I thought that was all decided over 200 years ago. Talk about the need to learn AMERICAN HISTORY. I know where to start.

Back in 1907, Congress passed a law requiring people to speak the language. Not many people could read or write anything back then. In 1954 Congress spoke again. The requirement was to be able to speak, read, and write. Different times? Don't know. Was it racism then? Who knows.

All I know is, noone seems to have any trouble counting their change, no matter what language they speak.

Happy Memorial Day

This morning (Fri.) I got up feeling OK. Nothing great or bad. After my 1-1/4 hr. ride to downtown Chicago, I parked in the lot, and by the time I got across the street, I had a smile on my face. Not because T.G.I.F. either.

The sky was blue, sun rising, it was going to be a beautiful day. It wasn't until I noticed the barricades up that I remembered. Memorial Day Weekend. I thought back to the old days and smiled as I thought about all the guys I met and served with (some real goofballs Ha,Ha) and some of the good times we had. I remember my 1st day in country, but I'm a little foggy on the last. Probebly because I was WASTED.

Now a days, it almost seems like I wached a movie or something. A long time ago in a place far, far away to borrow a phrase. I feel like I went into a period of suspended animation or something. I guess it was easier because the guys who I grew-up with and went, all came back OK. Even the ones who were Jarheads (Ha,Ha).

But, we all know that wasn't the case for everyone. My thoughts and prayers go out to them.

I started to think about the founding of our own country. Born in WAR. Four years of bombings, sniping, unlawful arrests and interrogation, Indian raids, road-side bombings, and I'm sure, drive-bys or carrige-bys or something. Did I leave out hostage taking? Then the turmoil of writing the U.S.Constution for 11 years,(in a smoke-filled back room) must have caused extreme anxiety to say the least.

Enter the Civil War and the incredible violence and sacrifice it brought, all in the name of holding the United States together. Afterall it's those fallen soldiers who are responsible for this day. It started in 1868 as Decoration Day. The ancient Greek symbol of death the "Poppy" came years later.

Thank God they did it then, because I seriously doubt that we could pull it off now.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY

Storms on the Horizon

Well, well, well, here we are, another hurricane season upon us. The French knew the area was unsuitable for building back in the 1600's, but they built New Orleans anyway. We've been fixing it and it's been flooding eversince. Already we're hearing the usual headhunting rumbling in the hallowed halls of congress. The Army Corps of Eng., cheap republicans, stc. We never hear the real reasons tho.

Congress itself. Appearantly completely incompetant throughout history. For the last 100 years, Congress has been using all it's wisdom trying to reengineer nature, for our benefit ofcourse. The built the dykes, dams, locks and canals that led to todays problems. They wrote the legislation, wrote the rules, and OK'd the plans. When failure comes tho, they circle the wagons and pick off a few. They never seem to be at fault.

The part that gets me tho, is they think the American People did it. I expect them to Really study the situations and if there is nothing they can do, they should say so. For years our congresses (fed., state, local), have forged ahead with THEIR vision. If the electorate complains, SO WHAT.

When we see costal destruction, homes and towns wiped put by fires and floods, you have to ask WHY were they allowed to build there in the first place? It's not like it's the 1st time natural forces have done their handiwork in those areas. It's been happening for centuries, and they know it. They wanted the MONEY. Instead of telling people the truth, they wanted and took the MONEY. They love to get those tax dollars so they can blow it on their "Bridges to Nowhere.

CHINA SYNDROME

Senator Dick Durbin. Statesman and orator extrordinaire. A man among men, standing tall in the face of monolithic outside pressure, blah, blah, blah.

Too bad it's all directed against the AMERICAN CITIZENS he represents in the state of Illinois. In my reply from him, he mentioned weighing the concerns of all his constituents and cited stats. I can't imagine who he's talking about. Everytime I listen to the news or anything the topic turns to ILLEGAL ALIENS. I watch Washington Journal on C-SPAN whenever I can, and when that's the subject, almost every call is about Sealing the Borders. Even during the viewer call-in part after a guest,I'ld say the calls run 1-25 AGAINST anything except Sealing the Border. Nothing about Visas or Paying Back Taxes (another joke on us) or anything else.

I can hear the shill from ted and dick and john already. About how they were just poor ILLEGALS who got ripped off on their way to BREAK-IN to OUR country. Or that they're just poor ILLEGAL ALIEN MIGRANTS who can't afford it and we're so rich, and on and on. Then we have to get to the "UGLY AMERICAN" part, and then the Americans who are just "TOO STUPID" to see and understand the benes of adding 100 million NEW "BRAIN SURGEONS" to our countries population at a cost atleast 54 BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR.

If all that doesn't work, they can always say the Republicans are doing it.

Me, I guess I fall into the "TOO STUPID" catagory. I mean, dick durbin chose another course. I don't get it. No matter how much I GOOGLE, I can't find the data the elite senator from Illinois is refering to.

Maybe I'm on the CHINA site, and don't realize it because I'm "TOO STUPID"!!!!

Let the "FIRE SALE" Begin

I've been emailing Sen. Dick Durbin, from the great state of Illinois, about Immigration. The 1st reply he sent back was a real Song and Dance. A sick and sorry excuse for Spitting in the eye of the American Taxpayers and Citizens. I just wish I would have kept it so I could give you his reasons. obama didn't even bother to reply.
I sent dick another email (5-24) with my response to his, and got another reply.

He said he could see I had really strong views, and would keep that in mind while he made his decision.

Well it didn't take long. When I came home today (5-25) and heard the news, I was dumbfounded. At the last minute sen arlin specter (Pa) added an ammendment that would allow ILLEGAL ALIENS to qualify for the "Earned Income Tax Credit". He wasn't alome. The co-sponsers were sens.ed kennedy (Ma), john mccain (Az), chuck hagel(Ne), sam brownback (Ks), mel martinez (Fl), and lindsey graham (SC).

That's in addition to everything else they did today. Here's a taste.
AGREED: aliens entitled to E.I.T.C.
limit of 650,000 immigrants per year
REJECTED: LIMIT on those entitled to E.I.T.C.
sunset on #H-2C visas of 5 years after enactment.

If you go to the link provided, you can see "WHO DID WHAT AND WHEN DID THEY DO IT". Click Roll Call Tables and click spector ammend. # 4188.

Our senate. Wnat a symbol of strength. All that huffing and puffing about "Border Security". What a joke. Has a lovely ring to it, don't you think? Too bad, it doesn't seem to be that way anymore. America the Dumping Ground is more like it. It all started in the 60's. I was a teenager then, and I remember our democratic elites who controlled congress then, thought America's britches were to big. We sold our American Made products around the world and even to the Army. The elites couldn't have that, so our congress in all it's wisdom, passed some new laws. The elites back then thought it would only be fair to let EVERBODY have a crack at us.

Boy, did they. The Japanese were first, dumping cars and electronics on us. Everyone else in turn followed suit.

I guess that the rest of the world must have run out of things to send. This is a progressive strategy for the democratic takeover of congress, talking points, etc. It actually seemed to be a collection of articles put together in book form.

But anyway, one of the "stories" was about how the BENEFITS of winning the "Cold War" were squandered after "WE" won the "Cold War". I'm getting older now, and I may be a little fuzzy on this point, but didn't the "democrats and the whole world" declare that Ronald Reagan completely blew it, and we would be going to start World War 3 because of U.S. intransigence on SDI (Star Wars)?

For some reason I've got it in my head that democrats and the whole rest of the world fought Pres. Reagan (and told him how stupid he was)on our military build-up every step of the way, that is until the Berlin Wall came a tumbling down and the "Soviet Union" de-unionized.

"WE" might have squandered the "benes", but "WE" didn't win the "Cold War".

President Ronald Reagan did!!!

Silver-bullets for IED's

The other day while watching Lou Dobbs, a comment was made about Don Rumsfeld saying that there was no silver-bullet for IED's. That device was bacically rendered ineffective, because the story was leaked and printed in the press, and the arming of the devices changed.

And here we are all worried about poor Valarie Plame, a CIA opperative who had to come back to the U.S., BECAUSE THE RUSSIANS WERE ON TO HER(that's the secret part) and blew her cover to all of their friends.
The early newsreports were that everyone in her neighborhood knew she drove her shiney new Jag to Langley.

Where's all that congressional hand-wringing(and investigating) when you really need it?

Americans in Harms Way

The other nite on the news, I watched 1 of our senators from the great state of Illinois, Dick Durbin, profess his grave concern for the welfare and safety of our Soldiers who were "IN HARMS WAY". He seemed DISTRAUGHT over the 2500 KIA and the wounded since the war began.

I commend him for that. Being a vet, the numbers seem incredibly low from what I remember. We were loosing atleast 250 and sometimes 400 and even 500 a week.

I have to wonder though, does he know about the 2500 citizens of the city of CHICAGO, (in his own state), that have been GUNNED DOWN, STABBED, CLUBBED, BURNED, and HACKED TO DEATH here since the WAR BEGAN? Hell, last year, we had GUNMEN break into a sitting JUDGES HOME and GUN DOWN HER PARENTS. Sound familiar? And that's only 1 city. It seems the answer sadly, is NO. I can't remember the last time he, or anyone else for that matter, mentioned it.

I don't want to seem cold-blooded, but atleast our soldiers have bodyarmour and are armed to be able to peotect themselves. Not to mention, trained and expecting it.

God bless our soldiers and bring them home safe.

NSA Wiretaps

In the words of the late, great Harry Carry, "HOLY COW".

The NSA is getting phone numbers without names. Big deal.

A couple of years ago,the great state of Illinois was selling our (the citizens) personal info thro the Sec. of States office to any goofball that had 50 cents to pay for it. They were so PROUD of their idea, and even bragged about how it was a good way to keep holding down taxes.

The elites in the "hallowed halls of congress" don't seem very upset about the fact that our personal info has been LOST, STOLEN, and SOLD to and by seemingly everyone for years and all of a sudden now they're upset because the NSA is collecting our numbers?

The only problem I can see is that I'll have to ADD them to my "NO CALL LIST".

You'ld think that noone ever heard of the IRS or a phonebook.

What do we do with our Prisoners?

Lately there has been alot of grief about the poor prisoners that have been captured on the battlefield. Guantanamo and the "BLACK SITES" seem to get the most attention. The WHOLE world is up in arms and there seems to be only 1 recourse. I suggest that we explain to our european "allies", that in light of the fact that the detainees may be subjected to TORTURE and DEATH, the only responsible thing to do is release them to countries thwat we know respect human rights, like France, Germany,Spain,Italy, etc. Who knows, maybe even Canada (stranger things have happened).

Then and only then, will we Americans be able to hold our heads high, and sleep peacefully in the knowledge that our european brothers are protecting EVERYONES rights. Illegal Aliens marching to have their voices heard by the Elites in the Hallowed Halls of Congress. A day wihout illegals, if that don't beat all.

I had CLTV News on and they were in downtown Chicago interviewing layed-off LEGAL American construction workers. They chose that day to job-hunt, because they thought they would have a better chance of finding one because the ILLEGALS were exercising OUR (not theirs) LEGAL RIGHT to have their voices heard, because they can't do that in their own "Homelands", be it from Mexico to Timbuktoo, by our elites in the hallowed halls of congress.

Then it came to me. We should adopt the same tactics that ILLEGAL ALIENS use. But American.

What we need is "A day with ILLEGAL ALIENS". American citizens should just stay home. Take a day off.

OBJECTIVE; To deprive ALL FORMS of govt. ( Fed., State, County, Cities) any revenue. No rallies. No Marches. No Speeches. Don't drive (no tix and we'll build up gas supplies). Don't shop or go to the show or anything. Just stay home. BBQ with the fam, or whatever. I think we should do it 1 day a week, or maybe have a nice 4 day weekend every other week for a few months.

MAYBE then the elites MIGHT start to listen to the LEGAL AMERICAN CITIZENS, who put them there, they profess to care so much about. You'ld think that with their poll numbers, they'ld listen, but....

I can't wait to hear the elites and talking heads tell us how the ILLEGAL ALIENS kept the economy afloat.

The time to ACT IS NOW, BEFORE the elites give it all away.
